I'd like opinions on a rules change to mind control that would make it more useful to higher point figures.
Problem1 : High point characters with Mind Control don't use it very often b/c they can usually cause more damage.
Probelm 2: high point characters (over 200) never get mind controlled b/c of the 2 clicks of damage
Solution: The figure with mind control takes a click for ever 100 points OVER the point value of the figure that is performing the mind control.
EX: MODOK is 144 points. He can Mind Control a figure up 244 points without taking a click.
Reason: Figures like MODOK and Mandarin should be on a more equal playing field with their high point counterparts like Thor, Despero, or even Superman. How many times has Superman been mindcontrolled? Dozens
I agree though. It should be 100 points more than you. As it is now, I pretty much never use MC for that exact reason unless it's someone I expect to heal up easily right after the MC.
Maybe a Feat will change this!!

Just as a comment you may want to post this in the General Discussion forum, not here. Sometimes new places only glance at a thread and seeing something like this...they may think this is the way it is played, and not know you are suggesting a change to the rules.
i think you're reading that rule incorrectly, they take one clix of damage for every 100 points total, not over their own value. last time i checked at least

YOU are misreading what HE said. He said, he WANTS MC to work like that, not that it IS that. He wants to be able to MC figures up to 100 pts more than the Controlling figure. Personally, I think that is reasonable and easy enough to understand. It makes the different MC figures even more different from one another.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
I totally agree with you on this one. Should Mad Hatter take 2 clix of damage if he MC's Savage Hulk? Absolutely. Should Darkseid?!? Of course not.
I've wanted this rule change since day one.

"Victim? Victim? Do you think this letter on my chest stands for AMERICA?" - you have been getting insulted by nextwave.
Points are cumulative for 2 or 3 arrow attacks. If you control 2 50 point characters, you will take damage is if you controlled a single 100 point character.
I wasn't quite sure if the points are cumulative for double or triple mindcontrol.
What makes MY rule better is that if you mind control 200 points worth of figures (whether that is one,two or three figures) you will not take any clicks of damage if your character is 100 points or more.
You would take 1 click for ever 100 points OVER your own point total

How so?
I used to use MC teams all the time, and I would absolutely cherish the times when I faced another MC team, because I would set up a long MC chain, using his figures. I actually MC'd one player's entire team, giving them all a token. He stopped, looked, then told me he couldn't do anything on his turn. That was the best compliment I have EVER received in a game. Then the rules for MC were changed, effectively neutering it. I rarely use it or see a MC team fielded anymore.
This rule change would help give Mind Control just a little bit of usefulness back to the weakened power. The 99 pt Circe could MC anyone up to 199 pts without taking a click. It's absolutely ridiculous to think she would take a click of feedback damage for controlling the 101 pt Flash, just 2 more points than she is.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
What's even more ridiculous is the 151 pt Darkseid taking a click of damage for controlling the same 101 pt Flash, who costs 50 pts LESS than Darkseid!

A 150 Darkseid is taking a click of damage for any figure over 100 points.
That is pretty absurd.
He should be Mindcontroling anyone, especially Superman.
