Hi folks. It may be just me but I was looking at a few of the superheroes who have the willpower ability and i think they would be fantastic on a team.I mean if you have push damage done to half your heroes but then teirs batman who can push-but doesn't receive damage from this?HOW FRIGGIN AWESOME IS THAT?
Guess my question is-Willppower overrated because i think it could actually dominate a game if planned out correctly..
What do you want clarified? That Willpower prevents you from taking pushing damage? That is correct.
That Willpower dominates the game? Not really. It has it's place, but because Willpower is in the Defense slot, it takes the place of any damage reducers at all -- so while the Willpower'd figure just pushed and didn't take any pushing damage, he also just took one damage from the six-point Moloid that smacked him. Even basic Toughness would have stopped that one point of damage, but Willpower doesn't.
So Willpower is a good power, but it certainly doesn't dominate the game.
No, willpower does not dominate the game unless it is used on a character with an above average defense (when I say above average I mean 17 18 19 20). When that happens it gets really annoying.
Could I pop a Willpower question in here? Suppose I use a feat that requires a push, say... Pounce. Then, I push a character with Willpower, say... V Ultimates Spiderman to perform a Pounce. Does the Willpower negate Spidey's push, and THEN I take the push from Pounce? Or, do I take the push from Pounce, THEN lose Willpower, and have to take a click for the push.
If you push a figure using a feat that assigns a click of pushing damage, you take two clicks of damage.
Willpower would negate the original push but not the click of damage from the feat card (those are generally written that Willpower does not protect the figure while executing the feat).

Actually the push from the Feat is applied first, and then the click from pushing for a second action is applied unless you have Willpower at that time.
So with this example Spider-Man would take the push from the Feat...lose Willpower...and take a push from the action.

From the FAQ on Feats:
If a Feat card requires the character using the Feat to take push damage, the damage from the Feat card is applied to character before any push damage from taking a second consecutive action (if applicable) is applied.
Thanks on that timing clarification, Heroclix124! I wasn't sure of the timing, and I thought I'd read that it was to the player's benefit, but then I thought I'd read it was being FAQ'd, and then my head started to hurt...
wow thanks for the responses folks..that also has kept my head from hurting as well...
so basically willpower could serve as a double edged sword-saving you at one point but on the other hand you still could get the push damage from using certain things...

Wow, that sounds like some major bull#### to me. But I guess thems the rules (speaking of rules, why cant you perplex down to meet feat requirements yet when you perplex to bypass the requirements then you cant use the feat?)
