I had a ruling at my most recent tournament. Tell me if it's true
You can't outwit and attack on the same turn? But you can outwit and move? How does that make any sense?
The only thing I can think of where he may have been confused is that you can't outwit in the middle of an action. Say for example KC Flash was speeding along and decided to attack Thor. Flash can't outwit Thor's Impervious once he's started the HSS option 1; he needed to declare the outwit before moving (assuming he was in range and had LOF). Otherwise, like everyone said above, outwit is a free action and can be done by a character that also attacked/will attack that turn.
I definately know that. What we were trying to do was this. abbey chase had line of fire to Superboy. Outwit his invunerability and the attack him. and he said we could move and outwit but not attack.
As etiquette, i didn't argue, i said, "i've never seen it that way, and I've actually played at conventions and such".
he said it was FAQ update, so i let it be.
The only time it ever really comes up is with HSS - you can't move 6 from around a corner, outwit, and then attack (for instance). Otherwise, you can always outwit as a free action before or after your attack/move.
Then he was wrong. Kudos to you for being very calm about the poor ruling (I know plenty of people who take their gaming very seriously and would not have been so nice about it), but I'd bring a copy of the current FAQ with you next time you play at that venue. If the judge makes a call like that again, ask him to find the ruling. You shouldn't be penalized for playing the game correctly.
he may have confused it with mind control; if you mind control someone with outwit, you can attack or outwit with that figure, you can no longer do both. Unfortunately, I can't find this in the FAQ, but it is how I've always seen it ruled.

That is how it is ruled. And it's evident in the PAC. MC allows the character to take any action as a free action. Performing a free action would be your any action allowed by MC.
