Gotham City Precinct 12, Commissioner Gordon is addressing the men of this precinct.

“And Friday in front of the people of Gotham your precinct will be awarded Gotham’s highest medal for catching Scarecrow by the mayor. Well done men.”

“Th-thank you sir.” replied the sergeant .


“See… Commish… best intown…” Harvey Bullock says between bites of a donut finally stuffing the rest of it in his mouth after finishing intown. He puts his arm around the commish and begins to walk them out. Saying to Gordon in a much quieter voice that the men of the precinct can’t overhear “Now they’re the best because of MY training, let me handle the rest of the police and we’ll have every criminal in jail before dinner time. Including that Vigalante bat. They caught a dangerous gang this week as well!

Suddenly a giant explosion knocks them both backwords, Gordon got up and peered carefully through the smoke and saw a man being carried by another man in a flying suit.

“Hey! Let me and my game outta here holmes” cried the gang leader

“Why should I tubby”

“Why I oughta!”

“What, stand their and stay locked up?” the man replied mockingly

“Who are you.” Gordon replied angrily

“The man who’s going to kill you and every other cop in this precinct. You can call me Prometheus”

“Why…?” Gordon said taken aback

“Because cops killed my parents.”

“Listen sometimes when trying to stop criminals innocent people get hurt…” Gordon starts and Prometheus begins to laugh “look, it’s regrettable when it happens but sometimes it does.”

“You don’t understand old man. My parents WERE the criminals. And all you cops are going to pay for what you did to them. You and all those FREAKS that think they‘re super cops.”

A figure from the shadows behind Prometheus speaks “so you’re the man we’re supposed to be working for.”

“Yes. I am.” the man replied “I have a big job after this one in which I may need help. You can wait outside for now though, I won‘t need your help here and I don‘t feel like payin’ for something I won‘t need… Why are you here anyway?”

“The Bat broke up Penguin’s warehouse”

“Hmm… well fat boy, looks like your day, I think I’ll let you out after all.” Prometheus touches a button on his belt and suddenly all the lights dim and then turn back on at full strength. The doors slide open. “Electric Doors… just not nearly as reliable as the old key ones.” Prometheus whispers something to the lexcorp suit who fly’s next to the gang leader. “He’ll show you the way out.”

“Get back,” one of the officers says as he pulls Gordon back “we’re calling for backup, until then we’ll have to hold up here.”

*Outside*

“A Police Station?” Batgirl says

*Over the radio*

Emergency, need help at Precinct 12, All outlying precincts are requested for assistance Commisoner Gordon is with us. Multiple prisoners loose, Code RED

*Daddy No!* Batgirl thought as she bolted out of the car.

“Batgirl wait.” Batman called, “we need to go in carefully… we don’t know what to expect or how many prisoners have escaped”

“Then allow me to help.” Catwoman said stepping out of the shadows.

Batman would have protested if the situation hadn’t been so dire or if they had time to argue. But now was a time for action.

The Dark Knight's rasping whisper cut through the air: "Look, lives are at stake here. This isn't one of your feline adventures."

Catwoman practically purred back. "You mistake my intentions, handsome. These karate kids are no friends of mine, either."

Batman looked back into the bank, where dust from the explosion still filled the air. The attackers seemed to be splitting their forces, which would make it more difficult to reach Commissioner Gordon, presuming he survived the initial blast. He saw Cheshire and Lady Shiva duck under cover before the overweight form of Stogie Joe was roughly placed back onto the ground. It was clear that these actions were uncoordinated, but what, the Dark knight wondered, was really going on here?

Knowing there was no time to waste, Batman rushed into the room. Catwoman was right at his side. She even began to taunt Stogie Joe: "Is that how you let your gang members treat you these days, Joe? Don't you earn more respect than that?" The gang leader fumed at the double ignomity of being carried away by the guy in the battlesuit and then teased by Catwoman.

Commissioner Gordon was amazed as their assailant suddenyl appeared next to Harvey. For his part, the portly detective stood with his mouth open, clearly surprised to see Prometheus appear out of nowhere. Fortunately, Gotham's finest recovered quickly, and one of the officers nearby shouted, "Back off, mister! Put your hands in the air where I can see them or I'll be forced to..."

>BANG< The officer's service weapon was discharged at Prometheus, but the bullet must have missed, for Prometheus continued to advance. The gun's report jogged Harvey Bullock out of his shocked state, for he tried to defend himself. His flailing arms resembled, however, more an attempt to shoo away a fly than any sort of self-defense technique. Prometheus smiled wickedly with the police so close and so obviously defenseless.

Meanwhile, Batman did not hesitate to take the fight to the criminals. With a whirl of his batarang, he tried to take down the gang leader. Unfamiliar with Catwoman's lithe presence so close, Batman's concentration wavered uncharacteristically, and he got his leg caught in the ropes of the bank's waiting line. The Dark Knight tripped and fell to the carpeted floor, and his head struck the marble of the the teller's window...

Shiva saw batman's distraction and threw a shrukien, however batman saw it coming somehow and flung a batarang at the shruiken which reflected back and hit shiva in the leg.

"Get me closer to that bat I want a rematch" Cheshire said as the battlesuit lifted her and placed her infront of batman.

I forgot to do the same as well probably, goodluck. Looks like we both might need it.

Commissioner Gordon had gotten to his feet and gathered himself. "Men, keep this lunatic penned in! O'Malley, call for reinforcements! O'Meara, get over here!" The aging man thought about making a dash for it, knowing that he'd be more help to his department conscious and alive than knocked out. For now, though, he held his ground. O'Meara came running around the corner to the aid of his superior.

Catwoman slashed at the young Asian woman who had just been deposited in front of her by the guy in some sort of flying armor. "Purrrfect placement, rocket man," she said, but she underestimated her opponent's speed. Catwoman's claws cut through nothing but some sort of tubes that were attached to Cheshire's costume. Catwoman heard a slight hissing noise but thought little of it.

Batgirl tried to quell her worries for her father and ran into the interior of the bank. She was somewhat surprised to see another of the high-tech battlesuits being used here. She was less surprised to see Stogie Joe trying to make a break for it. "Where do you think you're going, Joe?" she said.

I can do my move without that correction, though. Let's see....

Batman had had enough. With his sharp hearing, he could hear sounds of conflict deeper inside the bank, and the shooting was an obvious of some battle in there, as well. He landed a solid punch to the suit's vulnerable abdominal linages, and the man inside gasped. "Catwoman, we need to hurry," the Dark Knight said, as more gunfire could be heard from the vault area.

Harvey Bullock went down in a heap, spewing donut crumbs as Prometheus' blow knocked the wind out of the portly detective. For his part, Commissioner Gordon registered with some satisfaction that his men were maintaining their discipline and not simply fleeing. He directed the fire of two officers nearby, one of whom actually managed to hit the impressive assailant. The Commissioner also knew that prudence was the better part of valor and ran away down the hall.
