I believe in the common man's ability to be a hero. And for my Grandfather, and for all the people that risked their lives to save the forgotten poor in that damnable fiasco that was New Orleans, I feel that I owe the members of this web community one true shining example of what it would be like to be a real superhero...
" 'Mazing Man's career started when Siegfried Horatio Hunch III, a cheerful and amiable dwarf with as firm a grip on reality as he needed (but no firmer), found a costume helmet in an alley dumpster and decided to use it to become a superhero. Taking his cue from a letter on the helmet's forehead, he immediately proclaimed himself Wonderful Man. Then a slight jolt made the letter swing around, and he had to come up with a new name. He considered and rejected Marvel Man (no relation), Miracle Man, Mighty Man and Muscle Man, all of which but the last had already been used anyway, and settled on 'Mazing Man. He made the rest of the costume later, out of odds and ends.
Maze's financial support comes from a sweepstakes he won years ago, so he can be 'Mazing Man and help people all day long. He lives in an apartment in Queens, NY, with his friend, Denton Fixx (who looks so much like a dog, he's sometimes refused entrance to humans-only establishments), and Denton's sister, K.P. Guido Garibaldi, big, dumb, macho and reasonably good-hearted, who lives downstairs, is also a major character, as are an excessively cute couple named Brenda and Eddie Valentine. 'Mazing Man is known throughout the neighborhood as a harmless nut who likes to do good deeds. "
In this comic era of characters like an ever more violent Wolverine, and and ever more disturbed Batman, it is nice to remember a time when heroes sometimes did things out of the goodness of the heart, and not the selfishness of the ego.
As a child, I adored this comic, and if you can find back issues (I bought the entire 12 issue run on ebay for $25), I suggest you read it. You'll laugh, you'll choke up, but most of all, you'll remember why it was that you wanted to believe in real life heroes.
I ask that all of the Judges and members of HCRealms allow this bystander to be played in open tournament this mont, as a symbolic gesture to those that ARE heroes, and get very little respect for being such. And though I know it violates the official rules, there are times when people need to believe in more than just rules. I would ask for the venues and WizKids to allow this one breach of 4 points, just for one shining moment.

Oh my god you rock! 'Maze was one of my favorite comic books way back. Thank you for doing a 'Mazing Man pog. I'm definately printing this one out. Any plans to do an Ambush Bug? (I think he deserves a figure...but like that's gonna happen).
The part of the article that didn't make it in was the fact that I recently lost my Grandfather, and that's why I hadn't done any pogs lately. I needed to find one that might actually matter, instead of just being kinda cool to see.
Hence, 'Maze.
Personally, I think it's a shame that 'Maze is stuck in creator-owned limbo now, because he'd be great as a character in the DCU as it currently stands... especially with all the tragedy happening in it thanks to Infinite Crisis. Even if he just distracted an OMAC for 5 seconds, I'd be happy.
As far as Ambush Bug... He's a whole different issue. I'd like to see Ambush Bug come back for another "Ambush Bug explains the DCU" mini-series. That's just me.
But who knows, maybe someday I'll do him as a pog again (I had him in the old ones, but as a Superman Enemy).

I'm really sorry to hear about your grandfather Echo, I wouldn't have bothered you about the Abe Sapien pog had I known that I really enjoy your custom feats and pogs.

I hear that the new set designer is actually a huge Ambush Bug fan...
