what power can be combined with Hyper sonic speed? Agruably any ability that requires a 'power action' would be out right away. but how about a power that requires 'a close combat action' or a 'ranged combat action'
If there is a clear 'You can't do this' clarification out there in a rules document could you please cite the source?
HSS option 1 only grants a free close or ranged combat attack. So *anything* that is an action will not work. That's as simple as it gets. Right now, the only offensive type owers that work with HSS option 1 are Super Strength and Stealth Energy because neither one of those actually take their own action to activate, their effects just happen when a close combat attack occurs. No EW, no PB, no BCF, no RCE, no Incap, etc. And to limit it even more, currently, only Super Strength is found on HSS figures (no Steal Energy yet).
From the Icons PAC:
HYPERSONIC SPEED (optional): Choose one of the following: (1) Give this character a move action. This character automatically breaks away and may move through squares adjacent to opposing characters. During its movement, this character may make one close combat or ranged combat attack as a free action. This character must be in a square where it could legally end its movement in order to make the attack. This character can continue to use the rest of its movement after making the attack.
And from the PAC:
SUPER STRENGTH (optional): When this character moves as part of a move action, poweraction, or free action, it may pick up an object. The object must either be in a square the character occupies, or in an adjacent square. This character may use an object it picks up as a weapon. If this power is lost or countered while this character is holding an object, immediately place the object in the square this character occupies. This power may not be canceled while this character is carrying an object.
And from the PAC:
STEAL ENERGY When a character this character hits with a close combat attack takes damage from that attack, give this character 1 click of healing.
And as an example of one that doesn't work:
PSYCHIC BLAST (optional): Give this character a ranged combat action. Damage from this
attack ignores powers that reduce damage dealt.
Hey, could you put pounce on Parasite and Pounce/Steal energy to not get hurt? He is the only figure with the power combo and he can't use it until halfway through the dial.
I believe you could but I'd reccomend peplexing his damage down on his Impervious click, because otherwise all your doing is keeping yourself on useless clicks. However the idea is cool.
