I've noticed a few people here mention that they're on Cap's side in Civil War, and outside the Realms I get looked at like I have lobsters crawling out of my ears when I say I'm "Pro-Registration". But I've never heard anyone say that they're with Tony. I was just curious if anyone else was.
I am on Iron Mans side. Cap is a punk for putting homing devices on him. He deserves to get broken for that.
cheers

A few people say that it's because I have a strongly Republican view (if you couldn't tell by the last part of my sig) and Iron Man kind of represents that "political viewpoint". I'm not trying to get in to a political debate here, mind you. As I said, just curious.

Yeah... because that is so much worse than Iron Man using the most vicious and insane criminals to hunt down his own friends.
Knowing full well that psychos like Green Goblin, Venom, Taskmaster and such can't be trusted and definitely can't be controlled.
Hell, Tony might as well cross over into the DCU and hire the Joker to babysit the Richards' kids while he and Reed clone more of their friends without their permission.
IDK, I might get blasted for this, but I mean I like the way Tony is now. He's a dick in the armor, a guy falling apart outside of the armor, it makes sense. Sure he's screwing around with years of history, but I mean maybe Marvel felt he needed to change? IDK, he'll end up redeeming himself like Hank 'somewhat' did. And I feel that the registration is half right/half wrong. The idea is good, but forceing people who say they will never use there powers in the U.S. to register is wrong. So I'm on Cable and Deadpool's side!

No. Mostly because of the guy that's in your name. I mean how many times has Redskull infilitrated the government? How many times have other villians done so. I mean can you imagine how much damage he could of inflicted if this law would of been passed when he was head of "The Commission"? It would of been game over.

Hey, extreme situations call for extreme measures! Can't someone betray their friends, clone an evil version of their friends, hire villains they can't control to hunt them down (and expect not to get backstabbed) and not be called evil? I mean c'mon, what has this country come to?
Speaking aside, I side with Tony, despite his villainous personality. I mean, many people side with Doom, so why not Tony! Also, I would like to see Tony win just so I get to see something different in comics, a world where the terrorists wins!
Seriously though, I know Iron Man is like taking measures that we ALL know crossed the line, but I support him. I mean, I blindly supported people like him! But I won't get into politics. Anyways, I honestly think that when it gets down to issues that focuses on Iron Man (like his motivations and what not), it might be more understandable why he's doing what he's doing (even if it seems wrong). I think it's kinda of neat to see a perspective you don't totally agree on, and it's very easy (given the history of America) to root for the underdog...but to try to understanding the side of pro-reg, let alone Iron Man's stance, is something I think most of the people I talked to just brushes aside. Besides, it's not our civil liberties that's being taken away, it's only those who wanna be superheroes!

Hey man, Cap is a tough dude to bring down. If those villians are asked to hunt him down then let them. Cap is a menace to society.
And think about this, if we DID live in a world like the Marvel Universe, wouldn't you want all the Heroes and Villians to be Registered? That is if you weren't a hero yourself. I know I would.

We have no proof that Tony is the mastermind of all this. He may just be going along with it for whoever's behind it. Ends justify the means, you know how it is.

This is my feeling too. You might as well let people know who it is that's saving their ### everyday. And if any random person has a problem with you being "super" then I think the hero could handle it. And the villains wouldn't follow the law anyway so that isn't a factor. I think my anti-secret identity feelings started when I couldn't understand why people couldn't tell that Clark Kent was Superman with glasses. But I digress.

Would I want the government to have complete control over a bunch of people who are more powerful then nuclear bombs... I gotta say no.
To be that trusting of anyone seems stupid.
After all we gave our goverment checks and balances cause we didn't trust any of them. Nonregistered superheroes are a pretty decent check to resgistered ones. If all the ones who arn't registered and trained by the goverment are locked up whats to stop the registered heroes from taking over.
I mean in the Marvel U things like mind control are common place.

Just because they are registered does not mean that the government would have complete control over them. The government we live in has control over our money but it sure doesn't stop anyone from robbing a liquor store.
Here is a good scenario. Lets say Wolverine is chasing a rampaging Hulk and Hulk is jumping all over the place and asks someone if he could use their morotcycle. Now if Wolverine wrecks that motorcycle, he is responsible for it.
It's just better that way. Spider-Man revealing himself to the public should not have been invane.
cheers

Well, is that any better then the heroes deciding what they want to do on their own? For as many times as the government has been infiltrated, there have been just as many times where a hero has gone bad. Not to mention mind control will work on someone whether they're registered or not.

Mind control will work either way... however they all have to go through shield training. Say Redskull gains control of shield. He could braincontrol any and all the heroes he wants by using shield.
Being split off is one of the heroes greatest advantages from such things. Heck who needs Redskull. Shield might decide to brainwash everyone as it is.
One hero gone bad is easy to stop. If they all go bad. Well we'd be screwed.
Infact that's how I expect Civil War to go to be honest. Tony's side will win come Civil War with almost everyone captured. Maybe even Cap and the other avengers team will be run by a replacement cap. If not even Cap and the rest of the survivros will be captured.
Then we'll find out that Tony and some others have had some "reconditioning" and as heroes go in for there mandatory training they find themselves brainwashed. One of the heroes who was pro reg finds this out as he's about to be brainwashed and barely escapes, finds some way to free the captured heroes. (Zemo? Seems to evil for this though... and I mean, isn't he a facist like his father?)
Then the Anti-Reg guys are forced to fight an against all odds siege against where the brainwashing equipment is being held. They destroy the computer, it returns everyone back to normal right before the Hulk comes back and everyone has to convince him to not kill everybody.
The moral of the story being, don't put your eggs all in one basket because all it takes is one trip to ruin breakfest.
