I totally lost my sheet that tells you what they do...but what does the two 3D objects in the X-Men Danger Room Starter do? I've never used them, so I didn't bother reading up on it.

One is like the indoor/outdoor version of the Dumpster (not destroyed when used as a weapon in an attack, placed adjacent to the target).

The other is a light that you can use to fire 4 squares for 1 and it doesn't get destroyed if you use it like that.

Someone else can give you the gory details, or they're hidden on page 40-something of the rulebook.

I'm wondering why anyone would ever want to use the broken drone as a blaster in a serious game.

Yeah, I don't know why use the drone as a blaster, when you can throw the object in general. However, if you were a flyer with Super Strength carrying the object, and you get based, but you don't want to be a close combat attack adn waste the object, you can use teh optional range attack from the drone...

Well, it's a light object on top of its unusual special ability. Who uses light objects with SStrength, anyway? (Or TK attack, for that matter? The only people I see pulling out light objects are people without those abilities.)

That is, if you were a SS flier without a ranged attack, anyway. Plus the special attack for the drone only does one damage.


But, way off topic for a rules thread, anyway.

I use light objects when I run out of heavies or don't pull any. I'd take the mailbox over the broken drone.

Nah, I'm not concerned. I got my question answered. I didn't realize that the drone can do the 2nd option.... Now I'm tempted to use the 2nd option of the drone next time I play.

I mean sometimes I use all the heavies as weapons and they get destroyed and all that's left on the battlefield are lights. Sometimes it makes a difference.

I like to carry the Drone while standing on the laser turret with Misty Knight.

Just be careful if your opponent has a slammer on his team. (I hear they'll be the chase "figures" in PowerBomb.)

I think its usefulness as anything but a light object is rather corner-case. I'm thinking of a non-flying, no range SStrength character on top of a building with no easy way down to the actual fight. The drone allows multiple (short) ranged attacks to support the grounded action.

Mostly, it's a light object.
