This question came up during my friendly game tonight. If a character with mastermind is attacked with exploit weakness or psychic blast does said character have to take the damage or can he still mastermind it. I say the character can still MM the damage off but my friend says no. (of course this is the same friend who I have to argue with about HSS and any other types of powers, plus whether knockback into a wall is negated by damage reducers(I know it is but I can't get him to agree). Someone help me out on this. Or at least play this guy and give me a break.

He can MM the damage, but it ignores the damage reducers on the MM "fodder".

Psychic Blast and Exploit Weakness deal penetrating damage. Essentially, penetrating damage ingore damage reducing powers (paraphrased, but that's the gist of it). Master Mind is not a damage reducing power; it will work just fine. However, whatever charater ends up taking the hit for the MM character will still be dealt penetrating damage (so choose carefully ).

Ok cool. That's what I thought. The guy I play with regularly outside of approved play just doesn't get a lot of powers or else he keeps trying to see if I'm paying attention. I participate in approved play and he doesn't (can't even get him to come to one) and I'm the pseudo-judge (I know I'm no where near in the knowledge as a judge but I feel that way when I play with him and some of the other guys that show up to play) He keeps trying to sneak in with KC Shazam! and do HSS and EW together. Gets on my nerves constantly have to watch him, especially since he's been playing a lot longer than me.
