OK, no superficial answers here. I want REAL reasons as to the WHY.
Thunderbolts. It says you get the team ability, but retain team affiliation. So, if I T-bolt to Defenders, I take on the text of the Defenders team, but remain an Avenger (or T-bolt, as it may be).
A- IF I take on the Defenders text as printed, I could share defense with Defenders, who could not share back to me as I'm an Avenger.
B- IF I take on the Defenders text with Defenders replaced by Avengers, I could share defense with other T-bolted Avengers and vice versa, but not with Defenders.
How is it that currently people play it as both? It would have to be one or the other, not both. How are people T-bolting Ant Man to Defenders and passing 20s?
This gets even more confusing when the official word on it from our RA says that a T-bolt with the Fan 4 TA does not heal when a Fan 4 dies, but all other Fan 4 people do when the T-bolt dies. That sounds like choice A.
So will someone explain to me the logic behind people using T-bolts as anything they want?
Why would WizKids make a totally irrational, illogical ruling that contradicts the text on the card? The answer you seek is here.
(But, other than that, I really have no clue why it's not played as written ...)

The reason is quite simple: Wizkids failed to make their intent clear when designing the Thunderbolts card. Afterwards, the intent has been clarified and is played as such. Why they couldn't word it better in the first place I cannot answer.
As for F4 v F4 - I see it as two different TAs that happen to share the same name. But maybe that's not the official way to play it, I don't know...
