V em empress is in hindering on the New JSA map. Is adjacent to 1 E tigra and a V tigra. LE iron man is 4 squares away in hindering.
Question: Can empress pulse wave/ novablast because iron man is withing range thus giving the prereq needed to activate PW?
Or: because of the stealthed characters adjacent to Empress that action would be illegal because empress would need to breakaway to running shot inorder to use the PW/NB because of not being able to target the adjacent characters with a range combat attack/action via PW/NB?
The rules for Range combat says you need to draw line which he cant except to a nonadjacent fig. But when adjacent to enemy you cant fire out to nonadjacent enemy correct? Or does pulse wave just wave that base rule too?
Any help? Anyone? He ended up just resting then got raped from Le Ironman rendering her useless any ways but it brought up a great question.

EE could Pulsewave/Nova Blast regardless. As a flying figure she is always able to use ranged combat even if based by opposing figures. Pulsewave ignores ALL powers, feats, and team abillities, so the Tigras do not get any stealth benefits. They do get the +1 modifier for hindering terain however.

i'm afraid that is not correct according to the Danger Room rules:

this means that Empress cannot target Iron Man because she is being based. also, although PW would ignore stealth, you must be able to target someone in order to activate the PW, and you can't ignore the stealth until you activate the PW, so Empress would have to breakaway and use her running shot.
Empress can use Pulsewave anytime as long as an enemy fig is in range and not blocked by blocking terrain. The pulse wave ignores stealth, so it doesn't matter if all the targets are in stealth or not, pulsewave ignores all powers and teamabilites(just not hindering terrain bonuses), so if someone on the opposing team is in range, she can fire. Indoors, outdoors, doesn't matter.

There is no such thing as a conservative hero.
"You lost today kid, but you don't have to like it!"
that ruling is just so that fliers can't fire out of adjacency like they used to...
Pulse wave ignores character bases.
as long as you can pull off a ranged attack, everyone within range gets hit with the nova blast.
Fliers can ALWAYS make a ranged attack, ergo the flying nova blasters being so nasty.

She can use the pulsewave. She cannot target Iron Man, but Pulse Wave does not target. She can damage all of them.
Ah she got what she had coming. took her out two turns later after i mutilated her with le iron man very next turn. I wish he would have been able to do the pw/nb though since i know it is legal now. Oh well i will just keep scanning rules to make me wise.

Lets say the character that has PW is not a flier and only one stealthed character is close enough to be hit by PW can it be used since a clear LOF can't be drawn before the use of PW?
Also, a character that can't fly and has PW can no longer use PW when they are based, right?

There are two rules to success in life:
1. Don't tell people everything you know.
2.

Being a non-flier has nothing to do with it. PW ignores all powers, including Stealth.

They cannot use PW if the opposing figure that is basing them is also grounded. If the opposing figure basing them is a flyer, then PW can still be used.
