Hey everyone I just got a Wii today for my birthday and tomorrow I'd like to go to EB games and pick up a game. I'm looking for a game that will keep me occupied, and something that is a good solid game. I've looked at Zelda so far and I am interested in that. Excite Truck looks wicked fun but I don't think it would be a good game and I don't think it will keep me busy for as long as I would like (I just got my wisdom teeth yanked so I'm bored out of my mind). Thanks for all the help.

There are some great virtual console games you could download if you're interested in some titles you may have missed. Sonic and the Secret Rings is good too if you can get it cheap.
Figured I'd let you guys know what I did pick up, I bought Zelda: Twilight Princess and Resident Evil 4. What an adventure getting Resident Evil, I turn 17 in 8 days (9 yesterday) and 2 places wouldn't sell it to me, I get the rules on it but man what a pain. Luckily the mall near me has a gamestop and an eb so usually only one will card you. On the Metroid Games, thanks for telling me that I'm definitely going to pick those up (and a gamecube controller)

So far, I've not been blown away by any Wii driving games.
I really like Big Brain Academy. If you enjoy reaction speed/IQ tests, it's pretty fun.
If you want a second wiimote, the Wii Play is a sound investment. The mini games only hint at the potential for the Wii, but Duck hunt, Laser Hockey and the tank game are all a hoot.
Paper Mario is nothing like its predecessors. It was a step down, but its fun enough. Definitely a game I am in the mood to play when I'm very tired. Not hugely engaging, but light fun.
Right now, Wii is still sticking "shake the remote" mechanics on some games where it doesn't belong, screwing them up in the process. Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a major victim of this. I enjoyed the X-men Legends games, but I hated Ult Alliance.
As for old titles you can get for dirt cheap.
I still play Super Smash Bros Melee. Soul Caliber 2 is still a blast too.
I'll also agree that Metroid Prime is amazing.
Harvest Moon: Magical Melody is a lot of fun if you like the Harvest Moon vibe. Not everyone does.
Worms 3-D is another game that I had a lot of fun with, but not everyone will dig.
And as a big monster fan, Godzilla Monster Melee rules.
