OK, I have seen a reference to this combo somewhere on the Realms...
OK so Red Skull (with Life Model Decoy attached) uses Outwit, fails the roll and...what? Doesn't take a click of Penetrating Damage due to the effects of LMD? Is this correct?
What else Does LMD prevent? What is it innefective against? Thanks for your help!
You are right, it does say penetrating damage... and I thought it was unavoidable!
LMD does not protect against pushing damage or unavoidable damage. LMD helps against damage dealt. Pushing damage is not damage dealt. Unavoidable can be... but it is unavoidable... nothing can stop it by definition.
Also, LMD doesn't protect against Mystics. Mystics says that the character takes damage... so damage is not dealt.
But penetrating damage... LMD does help against that.
I thought at one point the WK website and the card said different things. As in the card said "penetrating" damage and the website said "unavoidable" damage and there was discussion to the effect of saying that it was supposed to be "unavoidable" damage and it would be errated as such. But now I look at WK's site and it now says "penetrating" so both things said in this thread would work (the LMD and Mastermind techniques). Hmm.

Adding that feat increases his point cost by 12 to 135, and he still just ain't worth that!

Play with the Forcefeild Generator Special Object. Taxi Skull onto said generator with Vet Trooper Behind. On next turn Skull uses Psyblast with Enhancement AND Perplex (no fear of damage) to hit for 4 Penetrating! Then Vet troopers can swap pushes to use the FFG every turn!

Ah, at first I was scratching my head but now I got you... the FFG is to make sure that Johnny Quick has something to hide behind... plus some other incidental uses.
That is a cool team, them Hives can afford to take some tokens from CSA too!
BTW I'm a big fan of Vault and I would add it to Johnny Quick! Course no one turtles where I play, so it all depends on the local metagame I suppose.
Kaitouace, you got it the other way around. It's the card that says unavoidable and the site that says penetrating, the site is still wrong.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but the actual card says unavoidable damage and since you must use the real card to play Red Skull, it is unavoidable until changed.
In my opinion Red Skull would be near broken with LMD. Since you can use all 3 powers during your turn and not take damage from using them with LMD.

He would be rather broken if LMD in fact does work with him to prevent his Cosmic Cube damage. Of course this won't be the case due to errata and what not.
Why are people saying Red Skull sucks for his points or isn't worth it? I've played him in games at home and the COG my 1st week and he IS worth it. 2 damage with PB and Invuln and stealth on his first click with a 10 atk is fine by me. Cosmic Cube = cheese. If I fail the roll so be it. But, I can't count how many times I'll use perplex, outwit, and prob all in one turn and hit a 4,5, or 6 every time. Anyway, he's a great support piece and everyone needs to try him out. You would be surprised how useful he is.
