The only thing I can really say is to keep playing it, pay attention to the cards the computer has in it's deck, and adjust your deck accordingly. Go re-play the easier early chapters and the puzzles if you need money to buy more boosters.
There's no real trick to beating the computer's deck other than knowing your deck (and their's) and playing it well.
One of the things you have to realize is that the starter decks you get absolutley suck, and the decks the computer has are finely tuned theme decks. So, if you can, buy boosters.
Here's a little trick (for the DS version), but I'm inviso-texting it for those who don't want to be tempted to cheat:
When you buy a booster, it pops up a screen showing you what you got in the booster. DO NOT TAP THE LITTLE GREEN CHECKMARK! If you do, you commit to the booster. Well, unless you get good cards. Then you can tap it.
If you DON'T get good cards, power the system down. When you load the game back up, you'll have your money back and you can try buying another booster. Keep doing this until you get good cards or the cards you want.
I just beat the final boss of the hero missions. The Storm 6 drop and Wolverine 7 drop are GODSENDS in that one, especially 'cause the computer isn't smart enough to move its forces out of the support row.
I love this game. Does anyone from here play online? I would like to try it. I know there is a vs. online community, but I feel those people play it and are better at it than a newb like me. I want to get my feet wet against people who are around the same level as me. Level = Newb!
Edit: If you play this game and have Battle Planner, you can download the VS. module and it will help you with the cards.
