Once again in this set, I find a terrific dial with a bizarre, atrocious sculpt. Or maybe they're just choosing the craziest version of the characters' costumes?
Polaris has a great 15 square "swing", very good AV, above-average defense, and terrific support powers. TK and Support? 5 clicks of Running Shot? Superb stuff.
But when I look at him, all I see are giant turn signals sticking out of his goofy helmet. Sort of a cosmonaut, villain-from-cheap-samurai-movie, gold-shinguards, motor-scooter combination. With a cape.
I love his dial. He is effective at multiple things on most every click- not only effective but pretty good at it too. With one perplex, he can even turn a little dangerous! Dr. Polaris is a four-star piece on some teams and a five-star piece on others. Reading through the comments, though, I think this guy is taking a bit too much heat regarding his sculpt. With that being said, I've always looked at his face and thought he looks like a duck.

Hes so bad. hes the biggest waste of points. why would you pay 111 points for a medic? thats the stupidest thing ever hes just terrible if he gets hit once its over and you waste a large chunk of you team there are so many clix for under 80 id use over him

You do realize there's more on his dial than just support, right? He's also a taxi, a second string attacker, and a telekinetic. In other words, he's versatile.

yeah i realize that and tk is the only thing about him that makes him not meltable.. there are by far so many better tk pieces and his support isnt relevant because he most likely will never get to use it because of how easy he is to take out and he pushes off it and somebody will just base him with almost any character. not to mention that most good teams have at lest an 18 to hit which means he needs an 8 which is higher then the average dice roll and with no drp he takes all the damage...
This piece does nothing outstanding and is, in my opinion, one of the worst pieces in modern age. BN Atom is a better medic, GSX Psylocke is cheaper TK, and JL Green arrow is a better ranged attacker, and all of these pieces have better stats and versatility for less points. If Polaris were 70-80 points I may consider running him, but I would probably still choose any of the aforementioned pieces over him. This piece is too expensive, the dial is poorly set up, and he's incredibly easy to take out up close. When I see someone playing this piece in a tournament the first thing I think is "free win."
