Hello all,
Is it illegal for someone to bring a sheet with their clix's stats and dials printed out with them for games?
I am just wondering...
Thanks
Chris
Look up too me, see a friend.
Look down on me, see an enemy.
Look me square in the eye, see a God!
A ton of people had a list of all of the dials for Origins at the Wizard's World to study (so they know to hit a guy for 3, but not 4...etc) but obviously you can't have it on the table with you =)

I have a question then. Since there were several misprints and mismatched dials(gargoyle dial on a Red Skull Figure for example) at sealed events, our judge would print Red Skull's dial for the player since the figure and card were for Red Skull. Would that be allowed or still against the rules?
Actually figures like what you mention should not be played and if in a sealed game a pack is purchased with defective pieces, most places will replace the booster and all of its contents with a new booster.
No one should have a printout for a game because having that knowledge of the dial is a clear advantage.

Yes. If you know a figure is incorrect, you can't use it. In a sealed a event like that, you've got a couple choices:
1) simply don't use that character and build from others in the booster(s) or
2) set the entire booster (with the incorrect figure) aside and purchase a new booster to build from.
Usually #1 is the best and easiest choice, but if that misprinted figure was integral to your strategy or if you didn't really like the rest of your pulls in that booster, #2 can work, too. Especially if you have a nice venue; I've heard of places that will just flat out swap out the booster (I don't know if they maybe try to make up the loss selling the figures that aren't misprinted as singles or what).
Here's the relevant section of the comprehensive tournament rules:
3.3 Defective Figures
If a player receives a defective character in a Sealed event, the player may choose to continue without the defective character or to replace the entire Booster or Starter. Partial replacements cannot be made.
Thanks everyone...
That is weird that you can have print outs at tourneys, but not with you at the time of the game...
Thanks for all the info.

Outside of the play area they really can't tell you what you can or cannot have lol
In the old days of mageknight if there was a specific tournament we were going to and we kinda had an idea of what was going to be there we would study up on the way

Yeah...I'm glad I only play for fun not for competition in tournaments or championships. Never liked that part in the old Star Wars CCG either (people tracing cards, counting decks, etc.)
With Heroclix we go by one "rule": you can always click through your own figures (to see whether you want to push etc.) but you can't click through your opponent's. None of us has the time nor patience to learn a couple of hundred dials by heart, so nobody has an advantage or disadvantage. It's more like a surprise what the stats look like after you hit your opponent for 3. We find it funnier this way. But that's casual play of course.

Wow you have taken 1 part of this game i always found interesting (the risk of pushing and wether it was worth it or not) and eliminated it, plus you have opened up the door for cheaters, it has always been a golden rule of Clix games (all of them) that the dials not be clicked in either direction unless a game event makes it happen. What is the logic behind allowing someone too look at the dial?
How does that remove the "compitition and compeditiveness" that you dislike so much?
What does it add to your gaming experiance that makes the game so much better that it is worth house ruling away a fundimental rule of the game?
just wondering
