If I play Deep Shadows, and have a theme team that includes JL C Batman and use the theme team ability to ignore the BFC it brings up my question.
If I am ignoring the BFC I do not have my range reduced, I know that much. If I am ignoring the BFC I CAN'T use Batman's OotS to move into standard terrain treating it as hindering though, right?
Also, if my opponent does NOT ignore the BFC, when it is his turn are my characters on normal terrain all in hindering, when on my turn I treat open terrain as normal?
First off, the card says "treat all non-blocking terrain as hindering terrain for line of fire purposes" So that means that you wouldn't be able to treat clear terrain as hindering terrain for Batman's SP no matter what. It is still clear terrain, it is only when you attempt to draw a line of fire that Deep Shadows will come into play.
So for clarification on Deep Shadows, if you play the card, and ignore it, and your opponent does not, then they would suffer the 6 range max penalty, and anytime they try to draw a line of sight to one of your characters, you will get a +1 to your defense against range attacks, and characters with stealth will not be able to be seen.
You will not have any of these problems, treat it like a normal game.
If i'm wrong in this, please let me know, but i think i got this one right. The whole ignoring BFC's can get confusing sometimes.
Yeah. Poor Batman is severely hindered on the Arena Map
Guess that makes up for him dominating Starro.
I'm still on the side of the fence that thinks that Batman is not broken, and people just aren't even realizing the myriad of ways you can lock him down.
