Yay, thanks VagrantKing for stepping up. Warskrull is one of the SuperRare figures from Mutations and Monsters that i don't have (yet?), so i don't know how well he/it plays. This is accurate as a post-arc (i.e. post issue #18) training match though, as 'my' WCAvengers fought against a bunch of Skrulls in WCA #16. It makes sense that my team would follow up on the adventure with some training against simulants of the newly encountered aliens.

It looks like i have choice of map/board. Do you play only on-screen or could i choose one of the newer smaller maps?

I can do just about anything, except Axis Chemical tends to be a little difficult . I'll post the dials when i get home from work later tonight.

You don't need to post the dials for my benefit. I play with the real figures (except i'll be using a proxy for the Warskrull) and make it a point not to look ahead at the figures' future stats. If you want to post the dials for yourself: then by all means, feel free.

Could we try the Stephens Bros. Carnival map (Horrorclix/HeroClix)? I ask mainly because i've never had the opportunity to play on it... If not, then i'll choose the Danger Room (it is in the Creation Matrix file Vance sent me; do you have that, too?).

I can do Danger Room, that works for me. I'll go ahead and place as well (sorry for the delay, strong winds in my area knocked out the servers all night.)

"That's right," replied Mockingbird, "but you know my darling husband's flair for the dramatic. He has something he wants to show off for all of you."

Iron Man went on, "It is probably a good idea to tackle these aliens again, even if they are only simulants. They could have hurt us much worse than they did."

"Yes," Sersi added, her beautiful dark eyes smoldering. "That battle in my old home began with a rather ignominious attack against me. It will be gratifying to exact some revenge, even though, as you say, these are but simulations of the aliens."

WCAvengers turn 1a

"Ta Daaaa!" Hawkeye floated into the West Coast Avengers' training facility on a strange new contraption. It looked like a cross between a snowmobile and a motorcycle -- but it was hovering a few inches about the ground!

"What in the world?" Ant-Man wondered aloud.

"This," Hawkeye beamed, "is a gift from Stark Enterprises and their new CEO, James Rhodes. It's my new sky-cycle."

The mouth of James Rhodes, the man inside the Iron Man armor only a few feet from Hawkeye, was agape inside his golden and crimson helmet. How could Tony not have told him about this ahead of time?

"Hop on, darling," Hawkeye said to Mockingbird with a smile, "and let's see what this baby can do."




- Sersi grabs Ant-Man and flies to G6, placing Ant-Man in H6.
- Hawkeye grabs Mockingbird and flies to L8/L9, placing Mockingbird in K8.
- Iron Man moves to E10.

"We may be Simulacrums, but we are still Skrull! And we will crush all who oppose us! Crush them into a fine, crushed, liquid form! Yes!", screamed the holographic Warskrull, who seemed to be suffering from a virus that made him a little....off.

"General! Myself and Officer Kl'Ark have studied much of this world's defenses! We have perfected the forms of their greatest champions!", called Officer Rk'Og, morphing into Officer Starsky, the world's foremost 70's television cop!

"Mooooooooove out!", Kl'Ark cried,jumping onto a nearby motorcycle and driving off towards battle.

Not wanting to give off their positions, Starsky and Hutch find bushes, and shift into Squrriels. The Avenger's would never suspect squirrels....

WCAvengers turn 2a

The sky-cycle whisked quietly through the air in the Avengers' west coast compound's training facility. "This is great: fast, maneuverable -- I'm tickled pink about this ride," Hawkeye exclaimed.

"This is where I get off, lover," Mockingbird said as she leapt down from the sky-cycle. She landed deftly, rolled, jumped up, and ran into cover, right in the face of one of the Skrull Warriors.

Ant-Man watched Mockingbird with some admiration, some envy, and some concern. He thought, 'She's getting a little careless ... which is unlike a former SHIELD agent. This might be only a training session, but that Skrull simulant could hurt her badly...'


- Mockingbird leaps to E14.

Squaking furiously, Hutch panics!

"The bird woman has seen through my most cleverest of disguises! What is mysterious about an earth rodent carrying a park bench around with it? These humans must be more intelligent than we have given them credit.....", squaks Skrull Hutch.

"Fear not loyal Skrullian, for I, Sk'Ott, leader of Cadre K will assist you, with my companion J'een! Come J'een, to Hutch's assistance! Cadre K, Kommence!", Sk'Ott cried, fearless leader of Cadre K, the elite band of mutant skrulls, who for some strange reason maintained a form with only one eye on most occasions.

"Yes, of course Sk'Ott my love! We will defeat these intellectual juggernauts with our raw power!", J'een cried as she and Sk'Ott shifted into the forms of squirrels again, but this time with leathery wings, and horns!

Their leader could only below in rage as he shifted into a giant tree (with leathery wings and claws, of course) and advanced on Mockingbird!
