The rules say the tokens arn't considered characters or terrain but the occupy squares and effect line of sight as if they are characters.
So I guess you can shoot through them with trickshot/ahab's special power
But do they...
Prevent someone standing next to them from shooting at someone who's further away (like if a character was occupying a square next to the shooter)?
Do they have adjacency? So would someone walking next to one have to stop moving? Or is it just that a non-flier/leap-climber can't move through a square with one of these but has to walk around it
Since no one else has posted, I'll give it a shot, but I am no rules guru.
Since Starrophyte tokens mimic certain aspects of both characters and terrain, I would argue that:
Non-flying grounded characters without an applicable power would end their movement once adjacent to a starrophyte token.
A character adjacent to a starrophyte would not be able to target a non-adjacent character.
SIF would prevent starrophytes from being destroyed (uncertain about this one).
The shield disruptor would not need LOF per its wording on the card (something's preventing me from downloading the text at the moment).
Hope this gets you pointed in the right direction, but I would await further guidance from one of the Realm's Resident Rules Poeple.
Heroclix is a strategy game with comic book characters where you can shoot sheep guns and quip with Spider-man and Deadpool. It is played by some of the nicest, most giving people on the planet. That is why I play Heroclix.
Starrophytes are not considered to be characters or terrain. They do, however, affect line of fire and occupy squares as if they were characters, and they can be destroyed following the same rules for destroying blocking terrain. A maximum of 12 Starrophytes can be on the battlefield at any time.
Based on the bolded text, Starrophytes are neither figures nor terrain, and only act as figures for the purpose of blocking LoF and occupying squares. Since they are not figures for any other purpose, there are no adjacency issues for being next to them. Figures can move through the adjacent squares and make ranged combat attacks without any restrictions. Also, they are not terrain, even though they are destroyed following the same rules for destroying terrain, the SIF does nothing for them, and being adjacent to them doesn't trigger Krakoa: The Living Island BFC.

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries....now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.
But does that mean that Starrophytes leave debris behind?
Logic says no, but this isn't about logic, it's about destroying them following the same rules for destroying blocking terrain, and that leaves debris behind.
Thanks for the corrections, BoT!
I was also curious if a destroyed starrophyte left debris.
Typically clarifying one rule often leads to more questions than answers. It's like the X-Files or something.
