So, the Dial H For Hero event is a fun one and a popular one to be played at my venue. Theonly thing I don't like onit is the fact the constant passing of the card to see who's got what power, what options are avalable, ect slows the game down a bit. So, I thought it wouldbe cool to make custom bystander tokens for all 12 heroes. That way all you need to do is look at the token and away you go. Each is also color coded to match their respective color on the event dial. This was my first major photoshop project of any kind and I know they look abit rough. but they came out pretty good I think.
Well, I just printed them on cardstock and used them. Their sizes right (actually a little small, since I forgot the outer ring on the pog isn't where it's punched out). I was thinking I might do them up later on stcker paper or a better quality paper to make them look more like regular pogs, but the cardstock worked pretty well. I just used them today and got a very positive responce from everyone at my venue. And as I hoped it made things ALOT easier. I did two sets total, one for my opponent and one for me. When I clicked the dial I'd call out the colors and we'd both set those 4 pogs aside. I was half afrade we'd run into the problem of wanting to use more then two of the samew character at the same time but that didn't happen. Overall, I'm really glad I did them.
Awesome! Thanks!
I'm going to take the event dials, and glue either a custom figure (or a regular figure) on them that kinda matches the theme. For "Dial H for Hero" I'm going to glue a booster Gold sculpt on it because in most stories I read, he wanted to be a hero, and no one trusted him (not at first).
How much can you take, and keep moving forward?
The Green Lantern Corps is DC's version of the US Marine Corps.
I'm actually planning on doing that too, but I'm going to try to mod something apropreate. For Dial H I want to do Robbie Reed. Don't have a good kid body to work with though. Maybe when the Power Pack come out. Huh, actually I'd love to do mods for all 12 characters on the dial and use them. But that's a bit more time consuming then I have right now
I played Dial H For Hero for the first time a couple nights ago, and it was pretty fun. Ragnarok The Cosmic Viking was a popular choice. It's cool to see who these people are, though.
As far as errata goes - they really haven't fixed The Moth's RCE with 0 Range? And also, is there any errata ruling saying that multiple players can't be the same guy? There's nothing on the card prohibiting it, so at one point we had three Ragnaroks going in our game.
Nope, no errata on the H Dial at all. I'm STILL waiting for anything on the Moth. 0 range RCE just sucks so usually most people don't bother using him I've found, though his Stealth can be very handy. It doesn't say you can't be multiple of teh same character, so I don't see why you couldn't. When we play, Futura seems to be a favorite. At one point we had two on the same team.
Unfortunately no, and it's looking like their won't me. I try to submit it each players guide that comes up whenever theirs a call for questions, but their seems to be no interest in eratting any of the event dials at all.
As far as we can tell, WK pretty much ignores the Event Dials with regard to rulings. They're seen as a novelty, not serious part of the game.
Pretty annoying.
I think any judge would probably rule that it gains the sharpshooter ability if you asked them. In context of the set, flight allowed you to shoot range out of base contact. It still might have technically needed a "1" range to do that, but I think that was the intent.

I like using card stock, then "laminating" them with packing tape.
Punch them out. Lay them face down on a strip of tape then place a second strip along the back. Cut them out with a small amount of overlap. press tape edges together firmly.
This not only makes them last a little longer, it bulks them up a bit too.
