I'm sure part of this question has come up before in these threads, and I apologize in advance if this has been covered already.
Ok, my question about the "Scheme" special power has to do with the outwitting of a single power possessed by all opposing character's that share a keyword.
I understand that you need to draw line of fire to atleast one character to be able to use this to outwit the chosen power from all opposing characters within 10 (regardless of line of site, terrain, and perhaps even elevation), but I'm concerned about what can be outwitted..
So here's the question...and I'm not sure if the wording of "Scheme" can be left open for interpretation...
When using this portion of the power, are you required to chose a power possesed by the individual target that LOF was drawn to or can you choose any power possesed by any opposing figure within 10 that shares a keyword?
I know this sounds like a dumb, straightforward question, and the answer is likely to be that you can only counter powers possessed by the character that LOF was drawn to, but I'd like to get a bit of verification on how exactly it works and if it's really worth the points to invest in a power like this. Thanks in advance for your time & responses!
You do not need LOF at all to use the second part of Scheme. All you need to do is to name a power and a keyword. This power will be countered on every opposing characters 10 squares or less away from the Skrull Emperor who have the chosen keyword, even if he cannot draw LOF to any of them.
Indeed you need no LOF. No where in Scheme does it mention requiring LOF or a clear target. Just within 10 squares and your good to go . Useful against that new Ms. Marvel me thinks.
