2. Can an ally or hero have more health than is shown on the card? For example, if an ally shows 6 health on the card and has not taken any damage; I then play an effect that heals 4 health. Is she at 10 or 6? If she has taken 3 damage, and I heal 4, does she stop at 6?
3. If I play the ongoing ability that gives +5 health, does an ally keep that. For example: Ally shows 6 health, I put +5 health on her, does the opponent now have to hit me for 11? If I place it on the hero, do they now have to hit me for 5 extra unless they get rid of it?
1. What do you mean by "interrupt? Please give an example.
2. and 3. You can't use effects or abilities to inflate an ally or hero's health above it's printed health, with the exception of any cards that say "target hero or ally has +X health".
As far as I can tell, you can interrupt ongoing abilities, but only as they are being played. Once the ongoing is in play, it'll take ability removal to get rid of it (burn away, dispel, etc.)
1. Yes, but only as it is initially being played. Once it is on the table, it is no longer in the chain and is not a valid target. At that point, you need a card that can "destroy" an ability. Note, that cards that destroy an ability can only target on-going abilities, it has to be on the table to be destroyed.
2. No, you can't over heal a hero or ally. Healing only removes damage, it doesn't affect how much health someone has.
3. Yes, if you play Power Word: Fortitude on a hero or ally, they're total health increases and more damage has to be done to destroy it.
2. No, you can't over heal a hero or ally. Healing only removes damage, it doesn't affect how much health someone has.
so if an ally with 6 health has taken 3 damage, and i try to heal for 4. will it heal the 3 and just lose the extra, or can i not attempt to heal at all?
Got a question from some games yesterday, and since I can't start threads yet, I figure I'd just add on the queston here.
1) Masons Fraternity Ring says "Your hero has +1 ATK while attacking". Someone I was playing yesterday played the ring, and then declaired an attack with his hero, using no weapon. Can a hero attack if they have an attack value but no equiped weapons?

thanks for the great analysis guys.
The extra healing is lost.
The reason why this gets confusing with people is because we usually try to count down on damage. Saying they have 11 health, then they take 1 now they have 10 health.
To make any health manipulation question clear, put damage ONTO a person.
Ex. #1) they have 3 health with 2 damage counters on them. You heal for 4 counters, which takes all the damage counters off. You can't take off more damage counters then what exist.
Ex. #2) you have an ally with 5 health and 3 damage counters on him. You give him +5 health, he now has 10 health with 3 damage counters on him.
Made it all clear to me, no more health questions from me any time soon.

The hero can always attack. He has to exhaust to attack. If he has a weapon then a strike cost must be paid. If he attacks, then it would be with 0. If a ring or ongoing ability gives him +1 attack, then he can attack with that +1.
The strike cost does not have to be paid. If he has the ring and a weapon, then he can choose to just swing in for one and save the weapon for a strike back when defending.
Thanks guys. That's what I figured. Had one guy argue that you couldn't attack without a weapon when I tried it, and then had a different guy argue that you could when he tired to do it to me later on.
Would have been nice to have had some kind of judge at that event.
