Okay, Barenaked Ladies is winding down, and I don't think I'm ready to do Dark Tower just yet (if someone else wants it, PM me, I may give it up). That being said, I still have the Music-itch, and am wondering if anyone would be interested in a Jonathan Coulton music-mafia.
This game would be similar to BNL (except for the fact I'll make the mafia explicit) in that roles will be Coulton songs. Don't know who Jonathan Coulton is? And you call yourself a geek. For shame!
Jono is known throughout the interwebs for his quirky songs and love of open source. The theme song of G4's Code Monkeys is by him. That Zombie-Office song (Re: Your Brains) that was passed around like a virus a little while ago was him, too.
Anyway, consider this an interest and signup thread. I'd like 18 players, as anything more, I get annoyed at pestering people for PMs. If I can't get enough (quite possible, BNL might have turned people off to me as a mod, and Jono isn't that popular) consider this dropped, but here's hoping.
Start date is currently undetermined, as sign-ups have been slow... if 18 signup, it'll start.
Player list (5/18):
1. PaxZRake
2. JackofHearts2005
3. The Darkstone
4. Beardo Deluxe
5. Reibello

"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
Signing up for this one based on the strength of BNL.
Good game!
EDIT: I'd prefer you run the Dark Tower game, as the source material is near and dear to me, and I've been looking for a good excuse to reread the series.
But I think I'd probably play anything you run, or at least read it.
Heh, thanks Pax. If Coulton doesn't get much interest (which is likely), I'll do Dark Tower... but as you may guess, it's a tad intimidating, and I'd hate to not do it justice.

So I'll admit, I've never even heard of this guy. Just started listening to "Our Bodies, Ourselves" and I can't believe what I've been missing!
That being said, if you want a co-mod for Dark Tower...
::tap, tap:: Is this thing on? If you haven't listened to much of Jonathan Coulton's music yet, I'd strongly advise giving it a try. I managed to get a hold of some, and wow. Just wow.
If you're up for doing some Dark Tower, that also sounds awesome, but anyone who's wanting that over Jonathan Coulton should give him a listen. Worth it.
If you're wondering about "Our Bodies, Ourselves, Our Cybernetic Arms", it is on his site, Darq.
That which is not dead may eternal lie,
And in strange aeons, even death may die.
Even if the game doesn't fly, the sign-up has caused me to explore the wonders of Jonathan Coulton, and that's a wonderful thing.
"I made this half pony - half monkey monster to please you, but I get the feeling that you don't like it. What's with all the screaming? You like monkeys, you like ponies, maybe you don't like monsters so much. Maybe I used too many monkeys... Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?"

This game will be on hold for now, but still taking sign-ups, as I have the roles all hashed out... just may take a bit longer for interest to percolate.
