The Spectre has the Quintessence team ability but with his named power it says "and the Justice Society team ability"; Can he use both of these team abilities at the same time? Or should he only use the JSA ability when he is the "Ghostly Guardian"?
thanks in advance

What's even better is that he got errata'd to possess the Justice Society team ability, which means he can lend his 18/19 defense values to friendly characters using the Justice Society team ability.

He is one of my favorite because of this ability.

He's just a sick piece, in general. Recently, we had a 300-point keyword-theme mandatory tournament. A friend wiped up with Spectre, AA Question and Gotham Detective. It wasn't even funny. All those shiny Lamppost Batmen people had just pulled got slaughtered that day.

No, it just changes some in game effects. The wording for JSA doesn't seem to prevent it in use vs possess, so can someone explain that?
JSA TA: Characters using the Justice Society team ability can replace their defense value with the unmodified defense value of an adjacent friendly character using the Justice Society team ability.

When this thread was started in 2008, it made a difference whether a character possessed a team ability or could only use it. Today the language has been changed so it doesn't matter whether the team ability is possessed or used in terms of being able to provide/borrow the defense value.
