Hey all, just a quick question with the Power Cosmic TA on the Avengers Silver Surfer.
I know that the TA Power Cosmic states that the figures' powers can not be countered..... so,....
1.) Does that mean if someone attacks the Silver Surfer using "psychic blast" that the surfers' invulnerability still reduces 2 damage of that attack... or
Does that attack with "psychic blast" mean that all the damage goes straight through....?
it means that it all goes throug.
PB is not a countering power. it prevents damage from being reduced.
the only the the PC TA protects from is Outwit. as far as countered goes.

Correct.

Not quite right. There are a few select effects besides Outwit that also counter powers - the Ambush feat is the classic example. Should a Power Cosmic/Quintessence figure use such an effect, the power will not be countered, so Phantom Stranger can use Ambush to get a free AV bonus and still retain his Stealth.
Also note that PC/Q TAs only prevents powers from being countered - you can still Outwit the figures abilities (Flight, Carry, Giant Stride, etc...) if you want.
Can one turn off his own PC/Q to take a push? I'm thinking about the Monitor's first click, even though he is in Stealth, he's quite vulnerable with only Super Senses showing. Invulnerable and his Moving Pawns show up on click 2, so can I turn off Quintessence to take pushing damage?
I'm pretty positive I can turn off my own Indomitable to push, say, Grodd. So, why not PC/Q?
Are you a PbP'r (Play By Poster)? Come and check out www.creationmatrix.com; we've got EVERYTHING.
Yes all TA's are optional unless other wise stated.
Turning off your own TA is not considered to be countering the TA.
So you can indeed turn off Q and take a pushing.
