if i remember correctly, isn't there a character that has both pulse wave and indomitable and thus wouldn't take any of the damage that occurs when using the feat nova blast? or was this just a potential if such a character exists?

Magus from Secret Invasion has both Indomitable and Pulse Wave, but I'm not sure if Nova Blast works like that or not...

Oh yeah, the (highly overpriced) Victor Von Doom LE from Secret Invasion also has the combo, but only for two clicks. At least he's got Running Shot with it.

LE Victor Von Doom also has PW with Indomitable. And yes, as far as I can tell Nova Blast for them is free of damage. Nova Blast explicitly states the pushing damage ignores Willpower and Team Abilities. Indomitable is neither. I don't believe Nova Blast was ever changed to reflect Indomitable as a new way around pushing damage.

That is correct. is neither Willpower or a team ability (which Nova Blast's -2 pushing damage ignore).

Characters with different dial symbols are great for getting around all those feat penatlties... for example, Power Man and Iron Fist duo are perfect for Haymaker. The feat gives a -1 penalty to characters with (but PM & IF have ) and it also gives a click of pushing damage similar to Nova Blast (but PM & IF have ).

It does say 2 pushing damage, that ignores Willpower and Team Abilities, but if that hasn't already been errated, it sounds like errata waiting to happen.

Except for Pounce, none of the feat cards that deal pushing damage (that can't be ignored by Willpower or team abilities) were reprinted with the "unavoidable damage" modification.

Nova Blast, Passenger, Double-time, Darkness Within and Haymaker can all be used on Indomitable characters without damage penalty.

I don't no other characters qualify for this combo, but a quick search in the Units section should tell.

I don't know. We never got errata for retired material before (maybe this could change with the new company, though).
Besides, it was ruled that Endurance could "absorb" such pushing damage, so the intention of Game Design wasn't really clear on this issue.

It should be noted, that if the Hammer of Thor spoiler dials are to be believed, Ultron starts with this combo...with a 12 range, 12 attack, and 4 damage.

now if u want real fun use Cheif and stock up on a token on his card then use NB then roll and hope u win the roll if so no pushing damage either

That's not entirely accurate.

The Fantastic Four feat did not get its erratum until the most recent player's guide. I'm also fairly certain that the Separation Field Generator was retired when it got its erratum.
