Back at the hideout, Rhino, Sandman, Scorpion and Electro are counting the take from the recent heist and enjoying a few beers while the leadership types discuss something of importance behind closed doors.

Sandman: "$80... $90... $100. $10... $20... $30... Man, I don't know about you guys, but I never made this kind of dough when I was working on my own. I think this team idea of Ock's actually has something."

Scorpion: "Pays better than the private eye gig, I can tell you that."

Rhino: "I just hope we can drop the undercover stuff soon. I'm sick a getting left behind. Is it my fault I'm built big?"

Scorpion: "Probably as soon as th' Doc fixes my suit. Until then I'm back to just being humble ol' Mac Gargan."

Electro: "Speaking of Octopus... any of you guys know what the secret meeting is about?"

Rhino: "Sumpthin' about Kraven. While you guys were out 'dis chick shows up, she talks like she's from New Orleans or somewheres like dat. Says her name is Calypso. I dunno how she found us. But she tells us she's Kraven's wife, so Toomes and Mysterio take her in and waited for Ock ta get back from th' job."

Electro: "She hot?"

Sandman: "Does it matter if she's Kraven's wife? I wouldn't want to let that guy catch me checking his woman out."

Electro: "Yeah, guess you're right." (Electro frowns, slumping down in his chair)

Rhino: "But yeah, she totally is."

Scorpion: "So what's her deal then? What's she doing here?"

Rhino: "Well, y'know how Kraven's a bit, ahm..."

Scorpion: "...Squirrely?"

Rhino: "Uh, yeah, ezzactly! Squirrely. Well Kraven wussn't always like dat. Back when I first met da guy, he still had alla his marbles. Then he went a few rounds with Spiderman last March. Musta taken a few too many lumps on 'is head, cause next time I see him he's bitin' and scratchin' and screamin' like a damn monkey. Started callin' himself 'The Spider' ever since." (Rhino downs the rest of his beer in one long gulp) "So Calypso says she's like a witch doctor. Doctoress? Doc-ette? Whadda ya call a lady doctor?"

(The others exchange a look between them, unable to believe that Rhino's question is serious)

Scorpion: "........ She's still just called a doctor, buddy."

Rhino: "Okay, so she's a lady Witch-Doctor. Says she can get Kraven's brains unscrambled, if we help Kraven give Spider-man a beatdown. It's suppose ta' help him get his manhood back up or some #### like dat. I dunno head-shrinker psycho-junk like dat. Mysterio says, great, except we dunno where ta find 'im. So Calypso goes: 'I need but peer into da mists of da Vishantoo, an' the location of da Spider shall be revealed to me!'"

Sandman: "And that's it? This lady draws us a map, and we can go kick Spiderman's ###?"

(Rhino shrugs, and cracks open a fresh bottle of beer with his thumb)

Electro: "Must be nice..."

Sandman: "Getting the specs of the wallcrawler? yeah, no kidding."

Electro: "Nah, I mean... having a lady who would do that for you. I mean, if one of us got tossed into a rubber room, is there anybody out there that would give a damn?"

(A moment of silence passes, followed by all four taking a long pull from their drinks)

Rhino: "My family's all over in Russia. My Pa moved us to New Jersey when I was three. My Ma got sick n' died when I was little, an my Pa kicked th' bucket when I was 19. Nobody but the Russian mafia gave me a hand after that." (Rhino leans one arm onto the table, and lowers his voice to just above a whisper) "And brother, you don't wanna know the kinda woman that gets hot for a guy dressed in an animal costume twenty-four-seven!"

(The group bursts out laughing)

Scorpion: "I had a lady once." (he smiles) "When I was first getting into the private eye game. A regular Gal Friday. We had some fun times..." (he glances down, and frowns) "But after what Jameson did to me? She wouldn't even look at me. I heard she's dating a police captain now. It just figures, don't it?" (He laughs, but his laughter is devoid of humor.)

(Electro glances over at Sandman, moving the conversation along)

Sandman: "What, me? Nah, I didn't have too much luck with the ladies. Even before I got my powers. And now? I have some serious doubts that I'll ever get any action again. I mean just imagine it, how uncomfortable would it be to have sand stuffed up your-"

"Gentlemen!" boomed Doctor Octopus, his tentacles throwing open the door to the conference room where he, Vulture and Mysterio had been discussing their plans with Kraven and Calypso. In his hands he held a scrap of paper, with a time and address hastily scribbled onto it. "Behold! I give you... Spider-man!"

(Musical Accompaniment for this scene)

"Okay fellas, you all know what to do." muttered Vulture, before taking wing and leaving the others to crouch and hide amongst the alleys and stoops of the street.

Only Doctor Octopus stood out in the open, his recent high profile bank heist making him the most likely for Spider-Man to be looking for. Octopus marched back and forth across the road, his metal arms flipping over nearby cars and smashing store windows, causing needless collateral damage to get people's attention. And if Calypso's oracular abilities were worth anything, the attention he would grab would be-

"Spider-man!" Ock called out, spotting the red-and-blue costume of his nemesis as he swung into the scene on a web line. "I've been looking for you!"

"I've been looking for you too, Pillsbury Doughboy! I need help with some muffins that I'm ba- hey, waitaminute... you're not Pop-n-Fresh!"

Octavius growled, but kept his temper under control. Closer, Spider, closer...

"Honest mistake Otto, really. But hey, you look like a man who enjoys his baked goods, maybe you can pass me some tips anyway?" Spider-man quipped, dodging past two of Octopus's tentacles as they lashed out in his direction, rapidly closing the distance between them. One of the arms swung close enough that Spidey was forced to drop from his web, swing from the length of the tentacle and land on the metal shaft a few meters from where it connected into Otto's torso.

"You want to just turn yourself in now cupcake, or are you going to force me to flex the proportionate strength of a spider against the skull of a forty-plus year old couch potato?"

"Arrogant cretin! We'll crush you like the bug you are!" Otto roared, only to be cut short by a splatter of webbing over his face. Unable to defend himself, Octopus took two feet to the chest as Spider-man vaulted away, using the scientist's midsection as a springboard.

"Did you say we? Don't tell me you're referring to yourself in the third person now Ock." Spidey joked, even as he spun and saw just what Octopus was referring to. From every direction, the toughest and meanest members of his rogues gallery stepped forth from their hiding places. Spidey was completely surrounded in every direction, even straight up where the Vulture was circling. Heck, if he slipped into the sewers he'd probably bump into the Lizard too!

"Get him! Get him!" Octopus wheezed, struggling with the mask of webbing affixed to his face. And all at once, the Sinister Six charged.

Spidey immediately thwipped a webline out, looking to beat a hasty retreat. Halfway through the swing the webbing dissolved into dust, courtesy of Mysterio's evaporation vapor. Falling through the empty air, Spidey had no way to dodge the Vulture swooping in and smacking him across the head with a surprisingly firm wing. Luckily, he landed in a soft bed of sand... which in turn grabbed him and flung him across the street, into the solid brick wall of the neighboring brownstone apartment.

"Oh, I see you sent out invitations to our party..." Spider-man coughed out, pulling himself back to his feet. He barely had time to take a breath before his spider-sense blared a warning, sending him leaping ten feet into the air to avoid a massive discharge of electricity. Already halfway up the wall, he scrambled on hands and feet up the side and pulled himself onto the roof. "Hoo boy, this is going to be tougher than I thought!"

"Indeed, little Spider." came a cool, husky woman's voice with a strong flavor of the deep south in her inflection. Spider-man looked up and saw a beautiful obsidian-skinned woman that he did not recognise. In her hands she held a chain, tied around the neck of a man Spider-man did know. Kraven the Hunter.

"I'll give you five seconds." She said with a smug grin. "Giving Kraven a chase will help remind him of the glory of the hunt."

"Well, I'm never one to look a gift horse in the mouth!" Spidey agreed, and took a running leap off of the rooftop. Just as he fired a webline off, he heard the sound of a chain being dropped to the ground. He pulled hard with all the muscles in his arms, willing the web to swing faster. He had to get away.

Onlya couple short blocks later, Spider-man dropped to the ground and turned. Six of his worst foes walked, climbed, slithered and flew straight for him, dead set on turning him into a red smear of pavement. Spidey backed up against the wall behind him, staring down this oncoming train of villains with Doctor Octopus bringing up the rear.

"Hope you don't mind, but I brought a few dates of my own." Spidey joked. And with that, a handful of the city's urban protectors dropped down next to him from the rooftop of the building behind him. Daredevil, Black Cat, Power Man and Iron Fist and more all sprung into place, forming a protective semicircle around the battered webhead.

"Criminy Spidey, don't go sayin' stuff like that!" Luke Cage complained with embarassment, "We ain't your damned dates!"

"Mmmrrr, speak for yourself." purred Black Cat, and took a step closer to Spider-man. There wasn't time for much banter though, as seconds later the Sinister Six caught up with them.

"Allies? How did you anticipate our attack?" Octopus damanded, his frustration evident.

"You could say a little spider told me." Spider-man said cryptically. Flexing a fist and taking a step forward, he issued a challenge. "So, you still think you can take us on?"

Octopus grinned, crossing his flesh-and-blood arms across his chest. "Oh yes, I'm still quite confident. We've waited too long already. Prepare to feel the wrath of the Sinister Six!"

Map Link (I don't know if anyone else has been having this problem, but the map seems to move around and misplace some tokens, but clicking "show tokens" moves them back into place).

Edit: I talked to Wakanda about the no-healing-between-arcs issue, and for this annual at least we're keeping damage from last issue. So, Sandman begins with one click of damage, and Ock will be left off the board (and Elektra removed as well to balance the teams).

"I have two PHD's, in robotics and radiology!" Octopus shouts back, still struggling to free himself from Spiderman's webbing about a block away.

"I met these creeps in prison. I tried to take them out. The feds got in my way and they escaped." Punisher said, crouching behind a mailbox. "Nobody escapes the Punisher. I'm here to finish the job."

As the Fist only half-listened to Frank give his explanation, he took note that one of the "Six", the big grey one known as the Rhino, had begun to charge forward. Before he could say anything, Punisher reacted as though he could see through his cover. Or maybe he just felt the ground shake.

"Don't worry. I came prepared."

Pulling a grenade launcher out of his bag, Frank stood up, aimed, and fired an explosive projectile at a rather surprised Rhino, hitting him right in the chest. While Rhino's protective outer shell absorbed most the damage, it sent him flying in the opposite direction, dropping his improvised weapon in the process, and leaving him hitting the ground horn first.

Spider-Friends Turn 2
Punisher uses Willpower to attack Rhino with RCE, 10 vs 16 (+1 from hindering, 17 total). Attack roll is 6,6 for 12! Stealth prevents attack form being re-rolled. Attack hits for 5 (+1 for Critical Hit, -2 for Invulnerability, 3 total), causing Rhino to loose Super Strength and drop his object, then causes 3 knockback to Q20 (or is it the other way around?)
Black Cat pushes to use Leap/Climb and becoming a fried kitty, moves to O7.
Everyone else rests.

(OOC: just a couple small corrections: Rhino's charge means that he wouldn't take knockback, and Black Cat should take 1 click of pushing damage).

"Holy...!" Mac exclaims, seeing a rocket-propelled grenade impact against Rhino chest and knock him to the ground. "You... okay, buddy?"

"Uhg. Yeah." Rhino grunts in pain. "Dat's what we're getting paid for, right? Ock's bodyguards. We're takin' da hits so he don't have to."

Gargan pats Rhino on the shoulder, "You rest here. I'm gonna go teach that creep what happens when you bring a gun to a fistfight!"

Elsewhere, Luke is staring down an increasingly charged up Electro. His first instinct is to run towards the little creep and smack him down into the pavement, but Luke is perplexed to find that his feet seem to be glued to the ground!

"What the...! I can't move Spidey!"

Mysterio's echoing laughter seems to emanate from all directions, and a short distance away Electro's corona of electricity grows even brighter. Arcing bolts of lightning twist and grow, taking on the shapes of demons and serpents.

"What, snakes?" Luke exclaims as his eyes go wide, the ropes of electricity reaching out for him. "Ain't nobody said there'd be snakes! AARRGH!"


Sinister Six, turn 3

1) Vulture carries Sandman, moving to Q11 and dropping Sandman in R10

2) Mac Gargan moves to R11, picking up the HO that Rhino had formerly been carrying.

Free) Mysterio outwits Luke Cage's invulnerability

3) Electro pushes to zap Luke. 8 vs 16, needs an 8. Roll (2, 3) MISS. Use Calypso's prob control, roll (6, 2) HIT. Luke takes 3 damage, Electro takes 1. Mysterio and Calypso will each take one IAP for the assist.

Calypso will make you reroll the first successful attack you make, if she can see it.

You can only designate a maximum of half your IAP from each attack for assists- so you can't give 1 to Mysterio and 1 to Calypso leaving only 1 for Electro. Electro has to be given at least 2 out of the 3 IAP.

"Where are you Mysterio?" asked Spider-man aloud, seeing how the illusionist's tricks were messing with his friend Luke.

"Spider-man, over here!" Iron fist signaled to him, leading the way to an inconspicuously placed shrub. "I can sense the flow of chi being disrupted in this direction. Almost as if there was a person, right about... here!"

Seeing no more reason to remain cloaked by invisibility, Mysterio appeared in a flourish of purple smoke. "So you've found me!" Mysterio chuckled. In no mood for games, Iron Fist grabbed Mysterio by the shoulders of his cape, prepared to throw Mysterio into a wall if he gave him any trouble. Much to his surprise, Myserio's head popped off.

"Or... have you?" asked the spherical glass head as Iron Fist caught it in his arms. Myserio laughed, his body and cape collapsing in a heap on the ground, and the disembodied fishbowl bursting in a explosion of light and force.

Though Iron Fist was thrown into the street, Spider Man's danger sense had warned him of the trap, only slightly to late to warn his friend. "I know you're here somewhere, Mysterio..." he muttered, feeling for minute changes in the tingles of his Spider Sense that would lead him to his opponent. Suddenly, the tingling jumped to a blaring alarm.

"Da, Mysterio is here. But you have greater concerns, Spider!" said Kraven, appearing behind Spiderman.

Sinister Six turn 4

1) Calypso moves to I12.

2) Sandman attacks Punisher, getting +2 to his attack from the BFC. 10 vs 15, needs a 5. Roll (5, 4) for a hit. Punisher takes 2 damage.

Free) Mysterio will Outwit Iron Fist's Super Senses

3) Mysterio will attack Iron Fist, using Ambush to get +2 attack. 10 vs 16, needs a 6. Roll (4, 4) for a hit with knockback. Iron fist takes 2 damage and moves to L17.

4) Kraven moves to G16

Calypso will reroll Punisher's breakaway if he is successful in getting away from Sandman's plasticity, or she will reroll Spiderman's attack is he successfully hits Kraven (keep in mind that since he is using Superstrength, Spiderman does not get the +2 attack bonus from the BFC). If both those fail, Calypso will use her prob control on any other successful attack you make.
