There's already been one post out there on this game and the Gremlins game. I just hope everything is compatible with Heroclix. I'll be all over the Gremlins game if it is.
May all your hits be crits!
On the whole, human beings want to be good — but not too good, and not quite all the time. - George Orwell
The boxes say "Collector's edition game", which in my mind means that this is a limited offering unless it does well and we will make another that is compatible.
I will wait until more information is given.

I played lots of Neca games when I was a kid, post office, 7 minutes in heaven, spin the bottle.....

I get it.
As for these new games like Freddy/Jason and Gremlins, I suspect that they will be able to run as both stand alone games and be Heroclix compatible. I seem to recall some statement made in the early days of WK/NECA mentioning sticking with the Heroclix game mechanics for all future combat dial releases.
God I hope these never see the light of day. It was the string of failed game after failed game that put Wizkids under. Stick with what works. HeroClix ONLY!

Very true, but only to a point. Creepy Freaks, Sportsclix, Crimson Skies and Shadowrun were complete disasters. Any game targeting little kids has to have a cartoon to go along with it these days. Most sports fans prefer to get their game on in videogames rather than tabeltop. Crimson Skies was too awkward and needed too much space to play. Shadowrun could have been made into a decent game, but instead WK chose to make some nonsensical game with statues that had nothing to do with anything that makes the Shadowrun Universe awesome. Horrorclix and Haloclix made a good go of it, but ultimately failed because they were not Heroclix compatible, and for no reason to boot.
I don't care at all about the Gremlins game, but if the Freddy/Jason set is Heroclix compatible I would have to seriously consider getting it. The fact that these releases appear to be very small would seem to indicate that WK/N are just testing the waters at this point.

No, Horrorclix failed because it was the worst edited game ever. There were as many misprints in each set as there were figures, and a large percentage of each set was ridiculously underpowered as to be unplayable, not to mention the fact that the game had unlimited potential for powers from the beginning but stuck to a core 15 or so abilities for no reason. If Horrorclix had a competent editor fixing the typos and some dial designers who actually knew how the game worked so they could balance the figures better and make actual use of the mechanics, it would still be around compatible or not.

100% agree with these points. My personal experience was the organized play never picked up. You show up to a Horrorclix tournament and you're lucky if you get 2-3 people. That's really gonna kill the game when you got no one to play it with.
I never played Horrorclix myself, so I was unfamiliar with the quality control problems. That's definitely going to be a factor against it as well. As for the compatibility issue, pretty much everyone at my venues wrote it off immediately based primarily on the inability to play the figures alongside Heroclix. This was especially true of the Aliens vs Predator set. We all would have picked up some of those if we could use them in Heroclix. Heck, I'd have bought three or four of those sets.
Yeah, they initially announced Horrorclix as being "70% compatible" with Heroclix, which is pretty wrong. The mechanics are very incompatible. A Horrorclix figure without victims is useless most of the time, but a Heroclix figure has no way to interact with victims.

I pretty much agree with this statement. The thing with Horrorclix was, from what I understood, that they want it to be different from Heroclix. They did not want overpowerful monsters, but what they got was under power monsters or unplayable monsters.

“I used to be a heroclix player like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.”
There is a very clear and logical reason that Horrorclix was not made fully compatible with Heroclix and its directly connected to DC. They refused to have their Heroes associated with monsters and such. Its the same reason that some of the more mature universes from DC is offlimits for Heroclix. Its all in the name of being children friendly.
