Just went immediately to Wizkids site, sure enough there are Watchmen clix, so big blue colossal will be Dr. Manhattan. I wonder how they got Allen Moore's okay?
Salu Digby as LeVIathan in clix!
“I used to be a heroclix player like you, then I took an arrow in the knee.”
Actually, maybe that was a good decision, because they left a year for the stinky fart of a movie to waft away, allowing these to just be comic-based.**
Still, a set of schlubs and one god [the Blue Colossal] seems pretty... narrow as far as design space goes, but It could be fun. At the very least they'll look neat.
EDIT: Never mind, it IS movie-based. Yeeeech!
Further Edit: 25 figures AND a 14-inch figure? What's this monstrosity gonna cost?
The Watchmen Collector’s Boxed Set includes 25 highly detailed, 3D miniatures including Dr. Manhattan, Rorschach, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre.
Anyone want to guess on how they're going to fill out that number? Will we get a Bubastis fig? The guy from the Black Freighter? And, given that we're talking about a collector's set that's fully half the size of a standard set, what on Earth is the MSRP on this going to be?
I'm betting the cast of Watchmen will be actually pretty playable, even the non-Godlike ones, likely a lot of good 60-80 point melee fighters, with Outwit, Perplex and good support powers.
25 figs, a Colossal, reported "display quality packaging" and the expensive Watchmen license... if this thing ain't hitting triple digits price wise, I'll be stunned.
Critical hit to my wallet. Dr. Manhattan will disassemble the molecules of my benjamins.
