No news. I think people make a bigger deal out of winning it than there really is anyhow. Though if they do bring it back and you go best of luck to you.
Oh well if that's the case then it's definitely worth it to win. Really it's about having a good time win or lose and not worrying about being some grand champion.
It's very cool in one way to have a "champion," but it's hard to say that he (or she!!!) is the "best" player out there. I've been a volunteer at a lot of the WW CONs and seen some very good players, but I know for a fact there are very good local players in my area that would likely make the final 8 or 16 at the very least that just can't afford the trips to the CONs.
Not to take anything away from the "champions" in the past, cause the ones I've seen play were very good. It's just that I see some very good local players as well who would never be able to make the trip, and could compete at a very high level.
But I guess that's true of any game, or even sports. Talent alone, without the right backing, can mean the difference between being a champion and reading about one.
