The HoT Moondragon shipped with a travesty of a paint job: Lil' Orphan Annie eyes, few facial features, and lots of olive drab paint. Anyone who has read a comic with Moondragon in it KNOWS that "drab" will not do! She's got it and she flaunts it! Fortunately the sculptor knew this and made the following possible:
Very nice repaint! You are definitely skilled to make such a blah fig into a really neat sculpt. Did you do any stripping (of the paint, not interested in that pole you had installed in your basement, lol) before the repaint, or just add your excellent layers?
Thanks again for the nice comments! The green is Testors' Citrus Yellow Metallic lacquer that is actually too yellow, but the ink/Future wash of emerald green that I painted over it made it closer to what I wanted. This particular paint only comes in a spray can, so I sprayed the paint into an extra jar and brushed from there. I can't say that the manufacturer would recommend that technique, but it worked out okay.
I'd didn't strip any paint, I just painted over the existing figure. I was also lazy and didn't do any Xacto knife work on the seams. :P
howd you do the metallics green color? im trying to paint my hulkbuster ironman with a metallic read color but dont know how to do it ive tried to mix red and silver paint that failed horribly lol.

I've gotten the same metallic green effect with a metallic paint and an ink wash over it. Try something like Citadel's Mithril Silver or the P3 Quick Silver. Then brush Citadel's Baal Red. (I'm surrounded by a lot of Warhammer and Warmachine/Hordes players in my area, so I get a lot of painting tips from them.)
EDIT: BTW, nice paint job on your Moondragon, domino33!
