This came up at my last tournament, and i wanted to get another take on it.

First, the power...

Nightshade can use Smoke Cloud. If an opposing character ends its turn occupying a square containing a hindering terrain marker placed by Nightshade, that character is dealt 2 damage.

When Nightshade places 2 squares of smoke under a double base figure, is she going to deal 2 damage twice (once for each square under the double base figure)? I went with the ruling that the damage is only dealt once. i was working from the precedent that a character with poison will only deal poison once to a double base, even if it is adjacent to more than one square.

You ruled correctly. The check is on whether or not the figure occupies her smoke, not how many of her smokes are there.


Now, if there were two Nightshades putting smoke under it, then there woudl be two instances of 2 damage.
