so im really thinking about forking over some cash for Kal-L cause he seems like he could be really fun to play, but he also seems like he could go down REAL easily. I'm looking for some fellow clixers who either own Kal-L or have fought against him to pass along their tales of how the match went. i used the search for kal-l and nothing came up... i just wanna make sure that it is going to be a fun and worthwhile investment. thanks in advance and cant wait to read some stuff!

I'm in the same boat, but I'm thinking about forking over for all 4 BatB chases (would be real fun to have all of the Lanterns).

Wow, and here I sit sweating the $26 evilbay purchase I just made (not knowing the guy didn't combine shipping). But hey, if you guys can swing that kind of purchase, more power to you. I know that my brother has enjoyed playing all the Black Lantern pieces. He was even itching to play them again the last time we spoke.

he's good, but if you can, get black hand. kal-l is nice and all, but not game breaking. black hand is game breaking if used right. even in a 500pt game he's more than half your team. once again, not bad, but don't break your bank to get him. i'd take kc superman before him any day of the week.

I own and have played him multiple times.

He's always been good but he's really great when he has his buddy black hand nearby. His opening 10 av isn't going to scare anybody, but giving an opponent -2 defense helps a ton.

Other then that Kal has great mobility and a ton of ways to heal.

If you are lucky/rich and have Kal, Black Hand and the Black Lantern object you could have this happen.

Kal kills pog. Heals 1 via steal energy
Heals 1 through his trait.
Black hand heals Kal 1 through avatar of the black hand power
Black Lantern Heals Kal 1.

4 clicks of healing right there. That's as much as a maxed regeneration roll

Not to mention all his regeneration which he can use constantly as he's indomitable.

Great piece, ton of fun

Yeah, it's the ability to heal that throws him over the top. The three together (MM, BlackHand, Kal-L) are absolutely sick. Dealin damage and healing everywhere. So bad (and so gooood)

BTW, I've never even seen Black Hand get to his third click yet (four fieldings).

He has a huge target on him at my venues (for good reason) I've seen him Ko'd a few times and I've also seen him take about 15 clicks and still be alive thanks to all his regen

Kal-L is pretty good but he does need a bigger team build then 300, but keep him back at first (out of range) then get on in their at hit away, Yellow and Black Lanterns(objects) are his best friends, just make sure you put a nice heavy object out their also to hit the enemy with, I'd say the Trash Dumpster being an "undestroyable" object in an attack would be nice

Kal-L is great, if he hits. He's one of the few figures I feel PC is necessary for. He also needs to be played aggressivley. He's at his best when stuff is dying around him. So don't be afraid to kill the little guys when you can.

I played him once in a 300 pt tournament (with Holiday Killer), I went 0-3, but with a bit of PC I probably could've been 3-0. (I would've one-shotted a OOTS Batman, but it got pc-ed by a theme team, and I rolled 1-under. Another game I'd have one shotted a Batman/Green Arrow (with critical) but it got PCed into a miss. In the third game I misjudged the dial depth of a figure I thought I could kill in one shot (when I was further down the dial) so I didn't get an extra heal that I needed.

My theory goes, if you have to ask our opinion you are not ready for it.

If you really wanted it you would be writing how you just purchased it.

Kal-L is fun, not super competitive. I played him once with Alpha Oracle on the In Contact With Oracle card and he was a beast. Imagine trying to hit that 22 defense from range-- or basing the guy with 5 damage and Exploit Weakness (and perplex and ICWO to up his values).

ive seen this piece get taken out in one turn... ive seen this piece destroy teams by himself... dice rolls and protection, u will win! but honestly... Namor is so much better!

Just fought him today, and my Crisis KC Superman beat the snot out of him (in one hit ). If your going to fork over any cash, put it towards the gem KC Superman!

I wouldn't buy him. Though I was lucky enough to pull one.

I've played against a few (well the same one a few times) and he's pretty good. Beatable, obviously, but he's very good, even in a 300 point game.

That Charge/Flurry/Force Blast is pretty nasty...
