I just love it. Specially with the picture of Data.

But something tell me it will be classic Movie trek and not my Favorite: the Next Generation one.

This I like. Just finished watching the complete DS9 series, so I am geeked-up for this.

This harkens back to the ilbegotten Crimson Skies knockoff game.

From everything I've heard, this sounds pretty sweet!

I'm a little bummed it's 12 Federation ships and 12 Klingon ships, though. With 24 ships they could have done a fairly representative sample instead of focusing in so much on the early days of Trek.

Hopefully that means they plan on doing some expansions with more ships down the line!

They said the next expansion would be Romulans, which only makes sense.

Ooh, missed that somehow - that makes me a happy man!

Romulans are the next logical choice, after that, I'd say the most Iconic force would be Borg.

from what they say in the announcement, I'm hoping that there will also be "unaffiliated vessels". The announcement mentions both "Doomsday Devices & Giant Space Amoebas." Maybe the 24 figures will be something like 10 or 11 from each faction with some "unaffiliated" choices thrown in?

I think the unaffiliated stuff like doomsday devices and space amoebas will not be figures, but rather tiles that you uncover as you explore the space sector. They would make pretty sweet figures, though...

Maybe some expansion down the line will include some figures of unaffiliated elements.

Of course, given the scales involved, giant space amoebae, Borg ships and doomsday weapons would be HUGE.

I'd love to see colossal Con Exclusives.

could've done wityh more faction variety (romulans, ferengi, orion even...), but i'll take what i can get, let's hope for the best.

They show some of the ships for the Star Trek Fleet Captains Expansion in the Star Trek Video Form Gen Con 2010 . The Next Generation Enterprise appears as one of the ships. The version set in the 2009 movie is the Expeditions.
