Fuel Tank
A character may throw this object up to 6 squares. If this object is used as part of a successful attack, also deal 1 damage to all figures adjacent to the target.

MAGNETIC MASTERY:#Give Magneto a power action. Magneto can use Telekenesis twice as a free action. If Magneto uses Telekenesis option 3 increase the damage dealt by 2.
The target of a successful attack using a light object is dealt 2 damage; a heavy object, 3 damage.
Magneto's power increases that damage dealt and that damage dealt is only to the target of the attack. So for essentially the same reasons critical hits won't increase the Fuel Tank splash damage, Magento's special power won't increase the damage dealt, either.
But there's still the benefit of hitting a character for 4 or 5 (I don't know if the fuel tank is a heavy or a light object) with Magneto and still doing 1 click of splash damage to the adjacent figures next to said charactger. Still work it to me.

Once again I say that I won't be completely happy until we've done every character in HeroClix.
Along those lines, I just re-read that object. The object just needs to be used in a successful attack not one that deals damage correct? In other words, if my attack deals no damage to the primary target, the adjacent targets still take the 1 damage because I successfully hit the target.

That's correct...except that they are DEALT damage. They do not necessarily TAKE it.
(Also, it's important to note that AP will work to make the damage unreduceable and it will not trigger Mystics.)

Correct. If you successfully hit a figure with NanoArmor they take no damage from the object, but those adjacent are dealt one.
Also, if you successfully hit a character with a 15DV the adjacent character with a 20DV is dealt a click of damage.

Misty Knight with AP is a good (ie, funny) one to use on Galactus in his scenario.
Toss up a Barrier next to Big G.
Have Misty destroy the Barrier with a close combat attack.
He gets splashed for one unreduceable.
She also gets hit and KOed.
He cannot retaliate.
