Power man and Iron Fist DUO attack + Power Barrage
Hi everyone.
can someone clear up how Power Barrage works for me?
Quote
Prerequisites: Duo
Choose a character. If this character possesses Blades/Claws/Fangs, Energy Explosion, Pulse Wave, Quake, Incapacitate, Penetrating/Psychic Blast or Telekinesis and uses it as an attack, after actions resolve, it may make a close or ranged combat attack as a free action, but modifies its attack and damage values by -1 for that attack.
Power Man and Iron Fist posess the Duo Attack ability, which does pretty much the same thing as Power Barrage, minus the use of the powers listed. So i guess I'm wondering, does this essentially give a character up to 4 attacks with B/C/F ???
The pre-requisite of Duo Attack ability almost makes the use of the feat worthless since a Duo attack fig can do it anyway, i.e. make 2 attacks.

Sadly, no, it won't let a duo figure make 4 attacks with B/C/F. Power Barrage was made to allow duo figures who had attack powers still get some duo benefit. The duo attack option does not work with almost any power, so a duo figure has the choice of two non-powered attacks using the duo ability or one powered attack using the power they have. Power Barrage lets the figure make a powered attack and still get the second (granted, non-powered attack) as well.
Um, no, Blade/Claws/Fangs only happens when a character is given a Close Combat Action. Duo attack only lets you make close or ranged combat attacks after giving the character a Power Action..
BLADES/CLAWS/FANGS When this character is given a close combat action, you may roll a d6 after making a successful attack roll. The result replaces this character’s damage value, then that damage value is locked.
DUO ATTACK Give this character a power action to make a duo attack. This character has for this action. It makes a close or ranged combat attack as a free action. After the attack resolves, it may make an additional close or ranged combat attack as a free action with its damage value modified by -1 to a minimum of 1. If this character is defeated or loses Duo Attack as a result of the first attack, the second attack is not made.
In your example, the character would make a close combat ACTION using B/C/F, and the be able to make a close combat (or ranged if he knocks out the only adjacent figure) where is attack and damage or modified by -1.
GYARGGH.....thanks for that quick response....i was re-reading trying to find the catch in that because it did sound too good to be true. Thanks for the quick reply though. rep to both of you sirs

They possess the Duo Attack Ability, correct. But, the Duo attack can only be used with Steal Energy and Super Strength, because using the Duo Attack ability is a Power Action. If you used DA, then you are using a power Action and B/C/F would not work. The same goes for the powers listed as they require another/ different action to activate.
If not for the Feat, it would be Duo Attack, or one of the powers listed, but not both. By using the feat, you can use one of the powers listed, and then make a second attack.
So, bottom line, you would not not get to attack 4 times with B/C/F, only once, then you would get one free Attack to use next.
No rest until the great works of Anthony Edward Stark are in clix forms
Soon...his works will be realized... in 2013 the Hall of Armor in clix!
I'm playing in a mega battle at my venue next week and i'm trying to tweak power man and iron fist, because for 150 points, they seem pretty doable with a feat or 2. and the limit is 1 fig, 150 points max. figured it'd be a good time to try him out :

Alright, I did some research (it's late, so I may be off) as to what may be really helpful for you. This is what I came up with:
Power Man and Iron Fist are 136 points, leaving you 14 points of feats max in this tourney.
Before I continue, the tourney is everyone has ONLY ONE FIGURE, NO MORE THAN 150 POINTS (INCLUDING FEATS), am I right?
If so, I have two feats that will help for a maximum advantage (once more, IMO):
Blood Oath :
Quote
Prerequisites: Battle Fury or Blades/Claws/Fangs or Willpower
Choose a character. Before the beginning of the first turn, choose an opposing character. The character modifies its attack value by +1 when attacking the chosen opposing character.
When the character makes a successful close combat attack against the chosen opposing character and the attack roll is doubles, you can choose to treat the damage from the attack as penetrating damage. If you do, remove this feat from the game after the attack resolves.
Indomitable is now Willpower, so PM/IF should be able to use this their whole dial (if not, sorry, scrap the feat) but in a one-on-one battle, a +1 AV is very beneficial
SECOND
STARSTRUCK ADMIRER:
Quote
Prerequisites: Celebrity keyword.
Choose a character. The character can use Incapacitate with a range of 8, if it can't already. After the feat is used, remove it from the game.
Yes, it is situational, but you never know when you may need to slow down your only opponent to stop an assault. Or, because of your indomitable, stop them from range for perhaps pushing (or to bring pushing), then attack them
there are more, but it is late, and this is what i got for maximum value with 14 points of feats

ShadowMark.....you're right. Everyone gets one figure to use. So, with that said, since it would seem I cant really do much ELSE with 14 points, I may heed your advice. Thanks for that......I don't play til Wednesday, but I'll post the reaults if you care to check back. I'd REP you again, but I gotta spread it around......and Thanks Questions for validating his response. Awesome
it says if I roll doubles, penetrating damage etc....remove the feat from the game.
Let's say the whole time I use it, I do NOT roll doubles at all. I end up defeating my opponent I swore a blood oath to. Once he is gone, do I get to choose another opponent for blood oath? It doesn't say I can, but I'd rather get the official no here before I try to do it.

No prob. And yes, I will be checking back to see how you do. This sounds like and interesting tourney.
Another possibility, after searching the Units, is Mr Miracle and Oberon. I like the idea of using a Duo with Indomitable for this tourney, as it maximizes the attacks you can do with the turns allowed.
With them being only 115 points, instead of 136, it opens up your options for different feats. Unless, of course, you have to follow the 10% rule, then PM/IF are still your best option.

I thought so....but i just wanted to be sure. Thanks Cap Heres some rep
On the other hand, if you never use the second part of the feat (dealing penetrating damage on an attack that get a double), since the feat would not then be removed from the game, your opponent won't get any point from it (except if he manages to defeat the character it's assigned to)
You know everyone loves to be the villain. Hugh Grant
ShadowMark.....
The only prob with Mr. Miracle and Oberon is that I just don't have them I have only been playing for a couple of months, got a case of S.I. and have been buying DC75 and WoS boosters.
This is going to be a really cool battle because we will be playing on a 3-D terrain board that someone built for the store. But the best part about it is that it's gridded for use with Heroclix!!!
