My buddy pulled one of these and the Rogue and Gambit, i think he is either really lucky or they are like the white lanters rarity. Both figs so good for the points.

Overall, these guys look okay. They have a nice combination of defend and improved enhancement... But, it drives me crazy that we keep getting 17 defense defend guys on their first click! It's a useless power. How many units really have less than a 17 on their first click from the last 3 sets? maybe 1 or 2 per set? That neuters the usefulness of these units.

Also Slymm and Redd would be fantastic, if it allowed 2 free actions of either or, but instead they give us yet another unit with the not so useful force blast.

With 2 powers that are only slightly useful, this unit comes in well underpowered.

ANSWER: Dead wrong. 12 in GSX, 10 in DC75, 15 in WoS. 17 Defend isn't great, but it's NOT useless.

It's a situational power, to be sure. But it's gold in the right situation. Say they're based. They can force the enemy away then TK a pal next to them to get super-Enhancement (and, perhaps, that 17 Defend) to blow up the enemy with the next action.

I pulled them in sealed and ran them thinking I would get slaughtered and then trade them away. These guys work really well. Great synergy on their dial. Good Stats and Dangerous the whole way down.

so i pulled one and used it in a match. great peice. the spaecials are great!

Great team play and damage output down the whole dial. Force blast an adjacent opponent away and tk up an ally to take advantage of the super enhancement and blast away. My only complaint about the figure is how it is named "phoenix" with the jean grey sculpt. Fantastic for sealed play, love this figure!

Jean used the codename Phoenix again from the mid 90s forward so it is accurate.

As for the clix itself, I think this dial overall is a little underpowered for the points. The pair could have been so much better.

I was really expecting sculpts representing the famous cover from the Dark Phoenix Saga with Jean in her green skirt and yellow mask and Scott in the solid blue with skullcap and yellow shorts, gloves and boots. Still, 90's era is probably the most popular by far and not unwelcome.

It's a decent figure but i was verry unhappy with the name/sculpt the fig should be cyclops & jean grey not phoenix since even the card say's that it's jean post phoenix death.But still not a bad figure and the two have a good fan base that wanted to see this figure.

I think the sculpt looks AWESOME, but the playability isn't as good as I would like it either for the character's power range (should have been more powerful) or the point value (I would expect less points for what we get here).
I also find it hard to call these "Chase" figures when you get at least one per brick on the average... and with there being only 8 regular boosters per brick now, they are only a little less rare than SRs. I still think of "Chase" as something you have to pursue (maybe one in every few dozen boosters or one per case), not something you'll find in 1:8 boosters. Eh. :-\

the Special for the DAMG is really cool and can make some ranged combat pieces (like storm and emma frost) really good.
