IN CONTACT WITH CEREBRO:#If Professor X is in your starting area, he can draw lines of fire and count Range for his Speed, Attack, and Damage powers from the square of any friendly character with whom he shares a keyword.
Ok if I am reading this correctly. Does this allow prof X to make an attack from another figures square?
Example we have prof x and wolverine.
Prof x is in the starting area.
Wolverine moves out and has 0 range
Prof x Uses ICWC to make a psychic blast attack from wolverines square.
Can I do that?

I used this earlier in a friendly game. had wolverine chilling in the middle of the board, MC'ed my opponents Angel to charge his PC fig (forgot that new 35 pt figs name) and leave angel out to be curb stomped by wolverine afterward. Was an evil trick.
I don't like thinking of him as being in Wolverine's square. For Probability Control, Enhancement, and other powers, he's still in the starting area.
Are we sure of this?
I came onto this thread wondering about this exact problem. The way I read the power it seems like you consider Professor Xavier to be occupying the square of the character he is "attacking through". If that is the case, then shouldn't he be able to use enhancement based not with his actual character, but with the character he is making the attack from?

I hope there is a clear ruling on this.
Well, it only counts for Prof. X's powers, not for the powers of everyone else (including PC and enhancement).

As for enhancement, it has nothing to do with range, only with adjacency which tends to be considered different a la Spider-Woman and Crispus Allen SP's, but I could see it going either way in regards to Prof. X being enhanced.
I think I get it. His powers work as if he occupied the square, but for adjacency purposes he does not actually occupy the square.
So if I want to give him a few researchers, they should stick around in the starting area with him.
I still wouldn't mind seeing an official ruling on this, just in case.
I am/was hoping to craft a team with Tomar Re, Professor X and some researchers, where the researchers would double count by providing enhancement to both attackers. Oh well...
Hmmm, Prof X, with ICWO and Alpha Oracle on the card so he will always have Perplex and Mind Control as well as gain ESD (Making it a 18 def on range with Super Senses).

Haha I also come to this thread for the exact same reason. I look at it differently though... while the line of fire is being drawn from the friendly character's square, it is still Prof X making the attack... and he is still back in your starting area. So for Prob Control, perplex, etc it would be to Prof X's square. The only thing that doesn't make sense is enhancement because how can the little old scientist hanging back with Prof X help him attack someone on the other side of the map? I guess he just takes a screw driver and tightens some bolts on CEREBRO or something lol. Anyway, thats the way I understand the power... its Prof X making the attack so you have to have line of fire to HIM, he just gets to use other friendly characters for his line of fire purposes.
If you want to compare Xavier to another character, think Larfleeze !
Xavier is the one making the attack. The only thing he does from the chosen character's square is drawing LOF and counting range, nothing else. For all other purposes, he's still sitting in his starting area. So a character will have to draw a LOF to him in order to use PC, and a character with Enhacement will have to be adjacent to him to use it on his attack. Same for a SHIELD or Hydra trying to help him a little.
