Greetings HeroClix fans!Soon,
HeroClix fans in select areas all over the country will be able to stroll into their local Toys ‘R’ Us and find something very “X-citing”. We are very pleased to announce that beginning next week (May 15th and forward) there will be three new versions of some very familiar (and COLOSSAL!) figures! That’s right! Giant-Size X-Men colossals have come to Toys ‘R’ Us and they’re taking no prisoners. With all new dials, point values, and collector numbers, these three colossal figures are a brand new addition to your HeroClix arsenal! [...]
THIS JUST P I S SES ME OFF! new dials at a toy store that isn't even in my state? sad very sad......only be able to get them from a secondary market.....how hard it was to trade and get 1 of each of the GSX ones..
This is great news as it gives people who were unable to get any of these figs due to the sell-out of GSX a chance to get them. Also because they're different point values and dials then the ones found in the GSX release they'll apeal to completists as well as those who like to have options in playability with the same character. The only downer is the fact that these won't be available at all locations. However this doesn't seem as though it would be much of a problem as it yet remains to be seen if you'll be able to order them from TRU's website. Also for people in areas where they can't get to a TRU carrying these there'll probably be other realmsers willing to help out in some way.
I love these dials. All three of them. I was really not into the original Sentinels, but these look really nasty alone or used together.
However, the only Toys 'R' Us I have nearby is two hours away. I can understand WK wanting to reach out to more mainstream markets, but taking away availability for comic/hobby shops just guarantees that someone will come along and buy everything up to gouge other players. It's already happened with the GL Gravity Feed stuff.
I know it's an experimental move, but I just hope WizKids would try to keep both the mainstream and core fanbase in consideration when making deals like this.
As an aside, I am not angry about this in any way. I'm just a little disappointed they didn't put these dials on the original run of Sentinels.
could be a test market for future releases. Don't want to fill all stores with something that might not sell.
I know this sounds really bad, but I hope these just sit on shelves so Wizkids goes back to selling at brick and mortar shops who support the game we buy
It feels as though Wizkids was listening to people when they were complaining about not having a 100 point sentinel (I was one of them) and TA-Da! Here we are, all three of those look more playable then their normal GSX versions.
