I was playing a game where my Superskrull got hit by a psychic blast into a wall. We decided that all damage done was through the psychic blast attack so he took 2 damage + 1 damage from knockback to wall through his invuln.
I tried looking in the forums and on the FAQ for any questions concerning this just to make sure but could not find anything. I was wondering if the knockback damage into the wall counts as part of the psychic blast, thus going through invuln or toughness too, or if it is a separate damage. In which case it would not harm a character who has toughness or invuln after the initial psych blast damage is done.
The psychic blast is only for the base damage. I believe I read somewhere that even if you scored a critical hit, that critical hit damage wouldn't even be considered of psychic nature.
So if Hercules is hit by a psychic attack (e.g. 2 damage) and was hit by a critical, then Herc still takes only two damage because his toughness blocked the critical hit +1 damage while the other 2 bypasses any demage reducing abiities. (well, since this generates knockback, check if Herc smashes a wall, if so, then Herc takes that damage since his toughness already soaked up the crit)
Yeah i wasn't trying to argue it either. I lost my rule book so couldn't look up the ruling on it. And wanted to know exact wording and nature of knock back damage for future situations.
And critical hit on psychic blast would do the added damage ignoring invuln/toughness right?
The critical hit damage would ignore Toughness/Invulnerability. The knockback damage would be reduced though, and here is a thread where HeroComplex explains it.
