Have you ever played a "build a horrible team and exchange teams for the round"tourne
The title pretty much gets the point across... I played one of these and had a blast... Constructing a team of rotten pieces was a challenge...
They say the best weapon is one you never have to fire. I respectfully disagree. I prefer the weapon you only have to fire once. That's how Dad did it, that's how America does it, and it's worked out pretty well so far." Robert Downey/Tony Stark
I built a team of mostly 0 and 1 damage figures like 100-point sentinel, Professor X, and Destiny. Won the tourney. It was one of only two times I ever had success playing Taskmaster. (many players' teams had U Taskmaster) . Yes, it was very fun.

The most arrogant think their view is the only normal one.

I did the same thing once, except not one figure on my team did ANY damage!
It was ugly!

We played one of those about a year after I started. I had the Serpent Society, the U 35pt Cap America from Universe, and some other crap. We had to pile them up and the dice roll determined who got what. First round, I ended up with my own team and was doing pretty good for the first half of it. But then, somebody pointed out I had 300 points instead of 400! So I lost that round, then somebody loaned me a V Trickster from CD and some other junk, then the next round I ended up with some really cool JLA people that totally wrecked shop. That was the tourney I realized I stink at building and playing my stuff, but I'm real good at playing what other people build for me.

And I'm 100% willing to buy the 50 nurses to make that possible at my venue.
Heck, even playing that for myself... Course, may backfire on me if I'm using characters who can't amass enough damage and they just heal too damned fast... At a range.
A friend & I made 4 300pt teams out of the .25 bin. (it was ALL crap in there, so it didn't really matter who got wich teams).
Then we rolled off to see who got 1st/2nd pick.
The loser of a best of 3 match had to pay for both teams used.
Then we did it again with the two remaining piles of poo.
There was no prize - unless you want to count not paying/owning more crap.
Here's the scenario that HavokTX was talking about:
Brother can you spare a team
Format:
300 points, Modern Age
3 Actions
No feats or BFCs are allowed. ATAs are allowed.
Special Rules - see below
This week you will be building a team for your opponent to play. Each player will construct a 300 point team consisting of at least:
1 100+ point character
1 50+ point character
No more than a total of 3 generic figures of any type
No more 15 points of pogs
Theme teams are allowed
Your build total must be within 10 points of 300
ATAs are allowed.
Last time we did this I played Element Lad, Saturn Queen, Bruce Wayne LE, and Gleek.
Just to keep things interesting, make one of the rounds a Hold 'em round where you have to play the team you built. Like HavokTX said, you either 'get' this game or you don't.
Team Mobilehorror were the proud purveyors of Print & Play from pre-NECA 2008 to 2015. A good ride while it lasted. Keep rollin' 8s .
Yea we have had these a couple times over the years. I remember playing one time with all Destiny's. I think there were 20 on the team total. I thought I was smart, but I ended up losing to it every time. They can all free move with Brotherhood, and even though they do 0 damage most people were using figures with no damage reducers. Being able to reroll almost every attack roll 15 times means there were crit hits going off left and right. And havign to re-roll my attack rolls 10 times sometimes usually resulted in a crit miss once a turn. It was BRUTAL.
