Around the Net: Wildstorm Characters Integrated into the DC Universe
Around the Net: STORM WARNINGS
Quote
DC editors promised that WildStorm characters would be integrated into the DCU. And this week, readers got proof it was actually happening.
With September titles like Grifter and Stormwatch, DC is fully integrating the WildStorm characters who were formerly established as part of an "alternate universe" into the same universe with DC heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman.
What will this mean for HeroClix fans? Will Wildstorm characters be in an upcoming set?

The Wildcats suck, no doubt, but Stormwatch and the Authority have both had excellent runs. I'd be excited to have the classic Ellis/Millar period Authority and Stormwatch characters.
Biggest concern I have is how integrating these characters into the DCU proper might neuter them. They were created to provide a harsh contrast to the DC archetypal hero, how can you have the two interacting regularly without it completely breaking the formula? There's no way the Martian Manhunter would put up with Midnighter ripping the barrel off a tank and then beating a whole platoon of soldiers to death with it.
I am all for having these guys in clix. Have always love the Authority. Stormwatch would make me giggle too. Would love to see clix versions of Fuji, Battalion, and such.
I'm intrigied by DC intergrating the characters in. But at the same time, like The Werle said, they're supposed to be contrasts to the typical "superhero", which is what DC is full of.
Four things I want to see happen from this though:
1) Batman and Superman vs. Midnighter and Apollo
2) Deadshot vs. Grifter
3) A "secret invasion" (but done better) type crossover where the Daminates start taking over various DC characters.
4) Most of Gen 13 (really only Fairchild and Grunge) join the Teen Titans. Because really, Gen 13 sucks.

That's what I eventually thought after hearing the universes were definitely going to be integrated. How could anything like the Authority possibly exist on an Earth with the Justice League? Looks like Stormwatch is a shadow organization for now; we'll see where it goes in the future. As for J'onn, it really depends on how he's characterized in the new universe. Heck, maybe he's been brainwashed!
The Authority, Stormwatch, Gen13, WildC.A.T.S., Majestic...Sounds good to me. I would love if the next DC set was almost all Wildstorm with a few Elseworlds, and Vertigo figures thrown in as well.
I am not removing this until we get the rest of the Marauders, Cameron Hodge and Genoshan Magistrates. Thank you Wizkids. Uncanny X-Men was perfect.
If the WildC.A.T.S. got clixed, I would definitely buy them.
Count me in. I just looked at a comic I own & it says Image so I was going to ask if the Grifter being talked about was the one from Wildcats.
Now I'm glad about the DC reboot & integration of Wildcats into the DCU. Even if DC takes a year off I figure the Wildcats chances just went up.
On a sorta separate note. I was just looking over the HOT set. Over 2/3 of that set was new characters & I'm not counting Asgardian Spider-man in that count. I don't know how many themes like that are left but I'd love to see that happen as the standard. Over 30 new characters announced in Captain America is close but man was HOT great for new characters & great generics that made multiples fun.
