We have another special bonus preview for you all today, this time from our upcoming DC HeroClix release, Superman. We are pleased to present to you all, Maxwell Lord!


Maxwell Lord is every bit the shadowy manipulator in HeroClix as he is in the comics. Stealth prevents others from drawing line of fire to him as he uses Mind Control via his Control Superman special power. Better yet, the Control Superman special power allows Max to assign two actions as free actions instead of the standard one, and early-dial Willpower gives Maxwell Lord the opportunity to act without pushing![...]

I have been waiting for years for a Max!!! Now I just hope they have a new Booster in this set.

Booster is a big part of Flashpoint... so odds are he will be. And that's BOOSTERIFFIC!

That "Control Superman" power looks scary.

So one of the LEs really needs to be a version with the JLI & Superbuddies keywords, and "Boo" to NECA for not making the version people want part of the main set.

Interesting he doesn't have either the Brightest Day or JLI keywords. Wonder if one of the LEs is going to be a version of Max with one or the other. Beyond that, I do really like him. A nice special power that's even nastier with a few additions (Mental Shields, the Violet Lantern)

I'm really more of a Marvel fan, but I have to admit these Superman previews have got me looking forward to this set.

Also, anyone else get annoyed with pointlessly named normal powers?
I don't at all mind Max having Willpower* , but I don't get how that's represented by the Omac program.

*although, I'd have preferred Indomitable so the power slot could go to Mastermind.


I too would like to see a JLI version (but it's not high on my wish list).

Awesome figure!!! I like his special mind control power.

Not going to lie - given the build up to Max's arrival in clix, I was hoping for something with a big more "oomph", and really the Black Lantern components are probably a bit unnecessary. Given his ability to engage in mass mind control at the expense of his health, I would've hoped for something maybe with extra feedback damage but not needing a line of sight requirement (and 2+ targets a must!)

That said, this version of Max as a stealthy outwitter with the potential for very nasty MC tricks (Mental Shields is a must in golden) is still quite impressive. His Black Lantern "phase" still seems a bit tacked on though...

He is slow but that Mind Control 2 actions is deadly.
