I figured why not have a thread just to catch all those things you catch on cable, or finally show up in your netflix queue or whatever...
So just say what you watched and if you want give it a quick rating/review.
For me: True Grit
Blu-ray version showed up via netflix and I definitely enjoyed the movie. It had a lot of charm and the relatively small cast gave each character a lot more weight and substance. I think the landscapes helped in that regard as well.
So I enjoyed it. I'd give it a 4/5 or
"We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Wilde
I thought it was hilarious that I pointed out to my friends that he jumped right in on the creepy with the scientist chick, and all of us completely missed, until the middle of the movie, that she was his daughter.
Creep-o-meter went off the scale.

It was so bad. Maybe not as bad as one that has Van Damme but almost as bad. Chun-Li is my favorite SF character so seeing movie that was made from her that sucks hurts.
In theatre: Conan.
My rating? 2.5/5 It's not the worst action flick you could watch, but if you skip it you won't miss much. And don't bother with the 3D version.
On disc: All Star Superman
My rating? 3.5-4/5 This is a pretty good Superman tale. And it has the added bonus of not being drawn by Quitely(SP?) - who's art I despised in the print version.
I just got done watching "Are You Being Served? The Movie" and D.OA. can't be an epic fail because it had hot chicks kicking butt. AYBS the movie wasn't as good as most of the regular episodes but the cast works so well together they are just great to watch.
Crossfire, starring Robert Ryan and Robert Mitchum (and also Robert Youn,g but I wasn't familiar with him). It's from 1947, and it's supposedly the first Hollywood flick to directly deal with anti-Semitism, since the movie starts with a man being murdered, and it turns out to be because he's Jewish. it was based on a story by Robert Brooks, except his story was about his time in the military, when he saw several Marines beat a gay man. But Hollywood wasn't redy to deal with that, so they changed the hatred.
It's pretty heavy-handed at times, but it's mostly a well-done film. The lighting works well (even if they went with noir lighting to save money), and the actors are all top-notch.
The last movie I saw and finished (I've been watching Cronos on my lunch breaks, but I'm not done yet) was I think a Chinese movie called Mo Tai (Devil Fetus). The recording I found had a doubled-up audio track for some reason, with two different voice actors dubbing every line from Cantonese to some other Asian language. The plot was Exorcist-y, but with a wizard who shoots lasers out of his sword and a bunch of crazy, amazing stuff like that.
There wasn't a two minute stretch throughout where I wasn't entertained. If you're a b movie fan, find a copy. If not, don't. For me though, it was just about everything I wanted it to be. 9/10, maybe?

The last movie I watched last night was Dark of the Sun with rod Taylor and Jim Brown, but the ending was horribly depressing and stupid, forget it.
The movie I watched before that was Train, with Burt Lancaster as a French Resistance agent trying to stop a Nazi colonel from shipping all these priceless works of French art back to Berlin. I didn't think it was a wise use of resources to stop the Nazis from wasting men guarding a train full of art, but neither did Lancaster's character, which helped. He had his own reasons. It's over 2 hours, which surprised me, because it feels like the sort of movie that would be 90 minutes, but it keeps things moving, so you don't really notice.
