so what's the most effective comic accurate team you have seen so far?

Can't believe no one has posted on your thread, but for me I would have to say Avengers followed closely by X-Men. Other than that I would say most other good teams were themed, but not comic accurate.

A comic accurate team I want to try would be a Marvels Vintage team:
SI Namor
SI Human Torch
CA Captain America (Peanut Base)
AV Toro

I have liked the way the Illuminati have played.

I played an Invaders team of:

SI Namor
SI Human Torch
CA Captain America (Peanut Base)
AV Toro
AV Bucky
AV Union Jack

Looked very cool and did a lot better than I expected.

That's a tough question. However the X-Men are now a force to be reckoned with thanks to Nightcrawler and Professor X. Avengers has always been a powerhouse. Justice Society, imo, is an extremely potent keyword. Gotham city is too. At 300 points I would the following teams are all very effective...

X-Men: Nightcrawler 86, Professor X 123, Emma Frost 81.
Avengers: Thor 226, Captain America 72
Gotham City: Green Lantern 145, Batman 80, Question 37, Gotham City PD 27

For Justice Society to shine I think higher points are required. In Golden age at 500 points this team has done disgustingly well for me for several years.
Justice Society: Superman 317, Jade 64, Dr. Midnite 58, Black Canary 21, with Fortitude, Protected and either Nano-Armor or Hold The Line on Superman.

Sooooooo good. I just hate how all of them cost so much.

So I really like the teams, however if you are basing this team from the current comics, I believe NC is dead. Not sure if that matters since it is still a good X-men team but just thought I should throw that out there. Also, sorry if it sounds like a jerk comment lol.

One of the best teams I have ever played was Illuninati,,,took out a Sinestro Corps team in about 4 moves.

I dunno, my Secret Six team has been rockin' the house recently.

I'd have hit the "Like" button if this was Facebook. Love playing Secret Six. Definitely one of the better ATAs.

My favorite "comic accurate" theme team of all time is the Avengers from Avengers #1 at 400 points:
