So, I'm fairly new to the game, but I think I've created a pretty decent team off the figures I have. How does this sound?
sm020 Bruno Mannheim = 90
sm015 Lex Luthor = 109
+ Alias = 3
sm001 Superman = 300
+ Rip It Up = 20
sm014 Mercy Graves = 60
sm030 Hope Taya = 40
sm012 Livewire = 75
+ Alias = 3
For a total of 700 pts. The idea behind this team is to make them deal with Superman first and foremost. Hope, Mercy, Lex and Bruno would travel pretty close to each other. Livewire would basically be a harasser for pieces in the back. Bruno can Mastermind off damage to Lex in order to get him closer to that click.
What do you guys think?
Also, I'm thinking about taking out the Alias feats and just putting in an X-Kryptonite, I think it would help the team deal with hindering.

I like what you're going for, but there are a few things you may need to worry about. The first is that as awesome as superman is, he's very vulnerable to outwit. Yes people are going to deal with him first, but you may want to find a way to slap a fortitude on him so that he doesn't go down too quickly. The second is that Lex and Bruno both become power pieces at the back halves of their dials. What this means is that you don't have too much in the form of secondary attackers while superman is getting hit. You may want to consider swapping out some of the pieces to put in a stronger secondary attacker (someone like steel, eradicator, or superboy) until bruno or lex become beasts.
Also, keep in mind that with metropolis being a generic keyword, you need 9 characters to get the theme team bonuses.
Amusingly...I was thinking of bringing a Metropolis team myself. Mine would have been going for the theme team bonuses, but would have been:
I thought Metropolis was a named keyword since it's bolded on the unit descriptions here on realms?
Anyways, yeah, I see the problem with the late dial characters. It does seem kind of like a waiting game to pump up Bruno and Lex as well, I'm just trying to build ways into pumping them up a bit faster. Fortitude on Superman would basically make him my flagship attacker, while Mercy + Hope + Livewire harass pieces, Lex and Bruno Support until pumped. I suppose I could always change Superman to 150 and toss in Eradicator or Steel... But I feel the 150 point Superman is just way too squishy...
I wish I had the hoodie Superman, he's a better team building piece.
Wow...totally my bad. You're completely right...this is a non-generic keyword. You're good to go theme team wise (but should still be concerned with those comments on Supes)
I would recommend either eradicator for psychic blast, or superboy for tk and perplex. All of a sudden, you have me recontemplating my metropolis team in the other thread....
Yeah, Eradicator would probably work better. I just feel like if I'm gonna use the common supes, I may as well just use him at full power, or else not at all.
so use a full power supes and pull out livewire & hope for eradicator, or lex and hope for eradicator and fortitude on supes. Just letting you know I was deciding between a metropolis, excalibur, and martial artist team...if I go metropolis, it will be:
Yeah, I just really wanna use Lex on the team, because he seems like some genuine fun .... That and I just read All-Star Superman haha. But yeah, I will probably make some sort of modification to the team, I really wish I had Perplex somewhere on this team... actually. Superboy would fulfill that wish, but at the cost of losing Mercy and Livewire who I think are pretty versatile pieces and work well alongside Lex.
Your Metropolis team is pretty nice too, any reason for the Lex Corp Security guys? Just for tie ups right?
Any thoughts on swapping out Livewire (75) for Intergang Underboss (45) and Fortitude (25) on Superman? This will leave me with a random 5 points which I could just use for X-Kryptonite, to give Hope, Mercy and Intergang Underboss flying. Also, Superman won't be outwitted as easily, and I'll get to use the Superman Enemy TA.
I'm not feeling that change. You've already got outwit from Lex and superman, so it's not like you need the extra outwit.
I would recommend one of the following three changes:
Drop the aliases and rip it up in place of fortitude. What good is the +1 to damage b/c of the object if I've outwitted super strength. Or hypersonic speed. And is the extra +1 really worth it if it means someone can outwit the imperv and paste him for 6?
Drop Livewire and Mercy and replace with Eradicator for a much more effective attacker, and drop the feats for Fortitude.
Drop Livewire, Mercy, and Rip it up for Superboy. You still get a better secondary attacker (who gets stronger if Superman dies). But Superboy also provides TK and perplex. The perplex negates the need for rip it up.
I think dropping the Alias' and the Rip it Up is a good idea to toss in Fortitude. I wanna see how this team works together. I've used Eradicator before and I know he's absolutely awesome, but I just want to try some different stuff.
