Huh.... How long ago did you start playing? What sets do you primarily have figures from? And is there any specific reason you chose these two figures?
I started playing earlier last year, and know how hard team building can be when you start. Wouldnt mind helping you out.
2 weeks ago lol. I have primarily Hulk, Superman and Cap. I played with Supes for the 1st time tonight as he's a beast! Really wanna play with winter Hulk. Any advice would be great!
I was thinkin Magog?? What do you think. Him and hulk are both brutes
Magog definitely he is a beast. A-Bomb may be better suited than winter hulk due to his blocked line of fire ability. Gollum from lord of the rings might be good for a brute theme team. maybe non for his crazy damage output with objects.
If your gonna play Magog on that map The 80 point composite superman might not be a bad idea so you can tk him across the nexus then charge exploit before magog can take any damage.
Brute is just a keyword not a team ability. Basically there are three types of teams
1. Non theme team - teams that dont share keywords and get no bonus
2. Generic theme teams - team where all figures have a generic keyword such as scientist, brute, martial artist, ect....... with teams like this you get 1 theme prob for every 300 points of your build, which means twice during your game you can give any character in line of sight an action to use probability control even if they dont have probability control.
3. Non-generic them team - teamss who all have keywords like x-men, avengers, kryptonian, ect........ works exactly the same as non generic but you get twice as many team probs.
I honestly wouldnt be too concerned about your team. Just try to build something strong. Aim for high damage and high defense........
The players playing in these tournaments are building crazy overpowered teams that are nearly impossible to beat. I myself am even playing an extremely cheap team tomorrow. Use it as a good learning experience for team building and how characters can interact to give each other bonuses. The game is fun and team building can be difficult at first, but it gets easier.
I have yet to play my IG2 team, but what I am seeing and hearing is this:
--support pieces are key. Most teams out there are flOating one brick, one secondary attacker, and as many support pieces as they can to meet the requirements. There are a lot of A.I.M. Agents and Renegades from the Hulk set, and also PC.
--theme teams seem to be unnecessary, if you can get a PC onto your team (theme helps w/ the map roll, but this map is already chosen).
--get your hands on the Gamma Bomb! This is gonna be a game changer as long as it is tournament legal. It is going to take some strategy to get it placed properly so if it goes off it doesn't hit your entire team for 3 damage. But this will be a great piece to help take out an opponent's support and hopefully get a click or two on their brick.
That being said, I must say that this only is what I am seeing on the forums and hearing from my group. I agree w/ Clixtreme, high damage is gonna be a must on at least one of your pieces.

Smokey feet cap is very good on this map........... Ill post my team for you just to give you an idea of what teams you will be playing may look like
Team
1. Darkseid (267 points) - Tentpole its who my whole team is built around
2. GSX storm - secondary attacker that can be carried and attack same turn thanks to darkseid
3. big figure - gives me a free attack during my opponents turn every time one of my guys dies, which is good on a mastermind abuse team. also perplex and outwit
4. cypher - steal team abilities, and gives perplex
5. JJ jameson - cheap perplex
6. roulette - cheap probability control
7. AIM renegade - barrier and cheap enhancement to increase darkseid and storms damage.
8. bob agent of hydra - mobile blocking with prob on opponents turn
9. two nurses for cheap mastermind fodder
10. Gamma bomb - blow up blocking and damage opponent
11. yellow lantern boost darkseid attack by 1
