A friend has been healing inbetweener 3 clix when he KO's someone. I know the wording but does it add 2 clix to steal energy, or 1?

"Character can use Steal Energy. When character KO's an opposing character, heal character of 2 damage."

based off of the wording i would say you heal 3. cause it gives you steal energy but also gives you 2 when you K.O. someone.

It's 2 different things happening. If INB made a close combat attack that deals damage, Steal energy happens. If that same attack KO's opposing character, the 2nd part of the gem kicks in, So he heals for 2.. So 1 from SE and 2 from the KO = 3


Had someone ask this the other day cuz I healed when I KO'd some1 from range. He didn't think it worked that way. But the soul gem has 2 different effects happening, so it is legal.

You would only heal 3 if it's a close combat attack. 1 for Steal Energy, then 2 for KO. If it's a ranged attack, then it's only 2 for the KO

Well yeah. That's what I meant. I was healing for the 2 from the KO from range. Not 3...3 only happens in close combat and all the criteria are met.

Would all 3 of the aforementioned clicks would happen instantly or does the the Steal Energy happen immediately and the other two after the action that caused the KO is compelte?

Is this the official ruling anywhere? It could be implied either way, but without the words "in addition" or "instead" or some other term to clarify, its kinda open to interpretation. I'll do a search after this, but if someone has the link to a ruling, can you post it here?

Wow, even more powerful than we'd thought. Not sure if healing 3 clicks is how it was intended to work, but it definitely makes a formidable weapon!

I understand that I'm asking a slightly different question.

Let's say I am running Brightest Day Osiris with the gauntlet + Soul Gem. He is on his 8th click. If I attack and KO I know I heal three, but I am only certain that the first click is immediate. My question is are all 3 clicks of healing immediate (which will take him off of HSS and strand him in the spot) or do I heal 1 times for steal energy (keeping HSS on click 7) finish my movement, then heal 2x for the KO.

I would appreciate an Orange answer please.

For some truly evil shenanigans: the new GG Thanos with the Soul Gem (in either Relic or IG form) heals 4 clicks when he KO's a character using a close combat attack.
