The Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation King of the Ring Tournament
Hey everyone, Jerry the King Lawler here to welcome you all to what will no doubt be the *greatest* wrestling event in the history of the Universe!
I'm here at the Madison Square Garden in New York with my trusty broadcasting partner, Good Ol' JR and boy do we have a show for you folks tonight! The Garden is packed full and every country in the world that's invented TVs will be watching at home when superstars from every franchise, weight class, dimension, reality or planet will compete tonight for a shot at the title of King of the Ring... *and* a shot at the Ultimate Championship of the Universe against the reigning Undisputed champ... the Champion right here tonight at our Main Event!
Can you believe this is actually happening JR? Whoever wins this title will have bragging rights even Chris Jericho can't match, I haven't been this excited since the last time I saw Rosa Mendez walk to the ring!
Of course, earning a shot like that's not going to be easy. To become King, the Superstar, tag-team or stable who wants the shot must first defeat *Three* other teams in gruelling, elimination style matches until only one remains... and if they can still *stand* at that point, they have to take on the most dominant force ever seen in Sports Entertainment!
I don't know about you JR, but I'd rather be locked in a broom closet with Kane than step into that ring with the Champion!
Anyways, tonight is the night where *everything* can happen! We might see tag-team matches, handicap matches, mixed teams, one on one, diva matches or *anything* else you can imagine. The GM's have really pulled all the stops on this one and the only thing you can be sure of is that none of the matches are going to end until one only team has members left standing!
So far, we don't even know who'll be in the arena tonight, but as soon as the finalised schedule comes up from backstage, you'll be the first to know!
And know, a word from our sponsors...
Regards
Melkhor

(Prereq) : Before objects are placed on the map, place four SPECIAL markers on the map so that they mark the outside corners of a 6-square by 6-square area containing as much clear terrain as possible as close to the center of the map as possible; this area is the Ring. Objects cant be placed in the Ring.
(Prereq) : Each player chooses one friendly character and places it in an unoccupied corner inside the Ring; this character is his or her wrestler. A wrestler cant leave the Ring, and treats the edges of the Ring as if they are walls that cant be destroyed. When a players wrestler is knocked out or eliminated, that player must choose a friendly character outside the Ring and place it in an unoccupied corner inside the Ring as his or her new wrestler. If a character is carrying an object when it becomes a wrestler, it drops the object in the nearest unoccupied square before being placed in the Ring.
(Prereq) : No ranged attacks can be made by any character.
(Hourglass) : At the end of each turn, turn the dial once or a number of times equal to the number of wrestlers knocked out or eliminated during the turn, whichever is more.
(Blue-circle) Fair Fight: If any character that isnt a wrestler is given an action that would affect a wrestler, affect any square inside the Ring, or move the character into or through any square of the Ring, give the character an extra action token after the action resolves.
(Red-circle) Power Broker: A wrestler can use Exploit Weakness and Flurry if it does not already possess either or both of those powers. After the resolution of an action in which an wrestler uses a power from this effect, deal the wrestler 1 unavoidable damage.
(Black-circle) Disqualified!: At the beginning of each players turn, he or she rolls a d6 for each character in the Ring who is not a wrestler and has two or more action tokens. On a result of 1 or 2, the character is immediately knocked out.
As the Madison Square Garden has a roof and isn't located on top of any kind of freak volcanoes or active fault lines no Battlefield Conditions will be used.
Teams are built to a total of 300 points under the Golden Age format (all sets except Star Trek Tactics will be allowed) and can include as many or as few figures as you desire within the point limits. All teams should be PM'ed to me (the sooner the better)
Additional special rules are as follows:
1: Champion may *not* be fielded on a team (for obvious reasons)
2: The Infinity Gauntlet is considered a foreign object. If a team includes anyone fielding the Gauntlet, regardless of the number of gems attached to it that character will be instantly and immediately DQ'ed and removed from the arena, so DON'T try it!
3: All characters that posses, can use, gains or find some other way to access the power Hypersonic Speed (unless it's through the Move and Attack ability) gains the following special power instead: "High Flier: This character can use the Move and Attack ability"
And that's all there is! Any additional questions about the tournament, the format or the rules of the Event Dials or details about how exactly it works are more than welcome.

Question (and, no, as melk can vouch this has nothing to do with my submission ) - are we making it so Bencrawler can't remove Wrestlers from the Ring? Or is that considered a normal tactic of the event dial (say, using Drag)?
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

The bolded part of the rules ensures that any Nightcrawler shenanigans will be confined to ring-side action. Note, however, that it *would* be possible for Nightcrawler to drag a team-mate of the currently active Wrestler *into* the ring (providing he's not the active Wrestler himself either) but there's no way whatsoever that an active Wrestler can *ever* leave the ring voluntarily or not, short of being KO'ed

Also, my personal favorite house rule: "Wrestlers that would be moved out of the ring for any reason are dealt 1 unavoidable damage and placed along the edge of the ring." AKA the 'Steel Cage' rule.

Okay, wasn't sure if that bolded part was meant "by choice only". Thanks.

Well, King, I spoke with the Champion earlier and he is chomping at the bit to get at whomever thinks they are worthy enough to challenge him! He's watching backstage with great interest! I almost feel sorry for the "winner" of this tournament because the Champion is tougher than a $2 steak.
But you're right, King. Tonight anything and everything is possible so stayed glued to those sets at home fans!
You said it JR! You'd have to be dumber than a Michael Cole fan to actually *want* to go one-on-one with that guy, but I guess Undisputed Champion of the Universe *is* a pretty tempting title!
And I've just gotten word of another team that'll be involved in the Mystery Match so it looks like it's at least going to be some kind of Triple Threat, I can't wait to see what we'll end up with there!
And speaking of surprises, before the teams start to be announced, who are your odds-on favourites JR, do you really think anyone out there on the roster is actually tough enough to win *all* of this *and* take pin the Champion for a 3-count on the same night?
(Oh, and needless to say, this thread is of course entirely open to anyone who wants to cut a pre-match promo as well! A microphone holding dummy will be provided for your services as needed )
