My friend has a Unique Batman that he seems to always use when we battle. He moves his Batman over on one turn and attacks me on his next turn. He is attacking my V Thing. V Thing has invulnerability on his defense. He attacks my Thing and his attack is succesful. His Batman does 3 clicks of damage. I tell him that I reduce damage by 2 clicks. Then, this is what I think is unfair, he uses outwit to cancel my invulnerability. Is it legal for a person to attack, have their attack be succesful and then cancel a power with outwit? My friend and I have had many long arguments about this. I think it is a load of BS when he does it. But he says its legal because the abilities card says you can use the power at any time. Please, tell me if this is legal or not.
Thanks
Clix
First off, this is in the wrong forum but I'll answer anyway. He has to use Outwit before he attacks to cancel the power. It true that you can use Outwit anytime during your turn, but you can't use it in the middle of an action.
He has to declare the outwit first. According to the F.A.Q. outwit cannot be used in the middle of an action. If he doesn't declare it before the attack, then resolve the damage first, reducing by 2.
he has to outwit before he attacks not after wards. He woudl need to cancel the invulnerabililty before damage is even dealt. To my knowledge he would have to outwit your invulnerabililty first then attack , whether its succesful or not it a mute point since he would have to already cancel the invulnerability.
He can use Outwit at any time but if it is after his attack it will do him no good. He has to cancel Invulnerability first then attack. He cannot save his Outwit for something else if he misses his attack.
The ONLY power that can be used in the middle of an action is Probability control (its also the ONLY power that *you* can use durring your opponent's turn).
Tell him he's been playing wrong the whole time and now must hand over his U Batman as pennance.

That's misleading. You must obviously use defensive powers like Defend and Super Senses during your opponent's turn. And Super Senses is used in the middle of an action too.
